Nick Lemire hit a walk-off double on Wednesday afternoon to lift the St. John Fisher College to an 8-6 win over nationally-ranked Oswego State in a non-conference tilt at Dugan Yard. With the win, Fisher, which has now posted a victory in each of its last five outings, improved to 12-9 while the Lakers, who are ranked 16th in the latest D3baseball.com poll, slipped to 13-5. Trailing by a run in the bottom of the eighth, Fisher knotted things up after Murphy blasted a solo shot that cleared the left field fence and made it 8-8. After working around a two-out double in the top of the ninth, Fisher came to bat in the home half of the frame as Beimel reached base after drawing a walk. Evan Bowers entered the game as a pinch runner and promptly moved into scoring position following a wild pitch. With a runner at second and still no outs, Lemire split the outfielders and drove in Bowers to lift the Cardinals to a 7-6 win.

SUNY Brockport extended it's NCAA Division III leading win streak to 16 games on Wednesday night as the Golden Eagles topped host RIT 12-5 in non-conference action on the road. The Golden Eagles hold the second longest win streak at any level of NCAA baseball, trailing just DI Tennessee (20 straight wins). All-time home run leader Tom Kretzler added another long ball to his ledger and also scored three runs, to surpass Brockport Hall of Famer John Morgan as the program's career-record holder for runs scored with 129. Kretzler finished the day going 3-for-6 with three RBIs, three runs scored, a triple and a home run. Four Golden Eagles added two RBIs each, including Matt O'Dair, Ryan Voight, Nicholas Pastore and Zach Eldred. Eldred went 2-for-4 with two runs scored, while James Houlahan finished the day with a 2-for-4 effort at the dish. Houlahan is riding the highs of a seven game hitting streak. Brockport pitched by committee in the midweek non-conference contest as seven different pitchers toed the rubber for the Golden Eagles.

Earlham College remained perfect in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action with a sweep of Defiance College on Wednesday evening with a combined score of 52-10 (40-7 and 12-3). The Quakers improved to 15-5 (4-0 HCAC) while the Yellow Jackets fell to 6-12 (1-3 HCAC). Andrew Bradley was hitting for the moon with five home runs and 12 RBI on the evening. The junior from Stow, Ohio was 8-10 in the batter's box and posted a slugging percentage of 2.5. Christian Lancianese recorded a .833 batting average on six at-bats with five RBI. Dillon Fischer and Nate Hemmerich earned winning decisions after tossing six and five innings respectively. The game one win is the largest in program history dating back to at least the 1977 season, and the first time the Quakers have scored 30+ points in a game since defeating Transylvania 32-6 in 2011.

On a cold, windy day at The Ballpark at Strong
Stadium, Beloit College split with the University of
Chicago to hand the Maroons their first Midwest
Conference loss of the season. The Bucs dropped the
opener 15-7 after leaving 11 runners on base in the
contest and having a few uncharacteristic defensive
miscues. The Buccaneers came back from a 4-0 first
inning deficit in the nightcap.

Central College won its first American Rivers Conference game of the season with a road win against the No. 18 team in Division III, Loras College, 14-13. Central (10-9) ended its eight-game losing streak by beating the Duhawks (21-4). It was also Central's first win over a ranked opponent since beating No. 10 St. Thomas University (Minn.) in 2016. "I really liked our perseverance," coach Casey Klunder said. "We stuck with the plan and persevered through their scoring rallies." Right fielder Colton DeRocher tied a school record with six RBI after hitting a pair of three-run home runs. His was the first multi-home run game since Patrick Diemer went yard twice against Robert Morris University – Peoria in March of 2010. "He's red hot right now," Kluner said. "He's seeing the ball really well and it's fun to watch. It's rare to watch an offensive player to take over a game like that."

Senior Max Lamora struck out eight in his first start of the season and sophomore Luke Sokolski homered for the second straight day as Plymouth State University toppled Northern Vermont University-Lyndon, 7-2, in non-conference action at Parish Field on Wednesday afternoon. Lamora gave up just an unearned run over his five innings of work and the Panthers put up four runs in the second to jump out to an early lead. PSU tacked on with single runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings and the Plymouth State bullpen did its job to preserve the lead.

Christopher Newport sophomore utility man Daniel Elliott continued to dominate on both sides of the ball on Wednesday afternoon as the nationally-ranked Captains held on for a 5-3 win at home against Methodist University. Elliott drove in three of CNU's five runs and tossed the last three innings to maintain the two-run cushion and save the 19th win of the year for the Captains. Elliott gave up just a pair of singles in three shutout frames to earn his fifth save of the season. He moves into the top-ten in Division III in total saves for the season and also shoots into a tie for ninth in program history in career saves at CNU. Prior to his heroics on the mound, Elliott also played a big role both defensively and on the offensive side of the ball. He drove in a pair with a laser into center field for a single in the third and added an RBI groundout to plate a key insurance run in the fifth. He also made an impressive defensive play in the top of the third when Christian Yarbrough thought he had a base hit into the hole on the right side. Elliott, playing second base, ranged to his left on a dead sprint and made a late lunge with his glove for the nice play.

University of Mary Washington defeated Mary Baldwin University, 8-7, on Wednesday at the Battleground. The Eagles improve to 15-13 on the season. The Squirrels added one in the seventh, before the Eagles countered with two, as Jacob Christenbury provided a two-run single. The Squirrels scored four in the ninth before the Eagles gained the final out. Xavier Herring had three hits and Blankenship added the grand slam and a single for UMW. Christenbury singled and doubled. Ryan Dudak pitched three innings with no earned runs in relief for the win.

The University of Dubuque got back on track Wednesday afternoon after an impressive seven run, seventh inning to defeat the Coe College Kohawks 11-5 in one nine inning game at Mt. Mercy University which ended up being the host site for todays game. Weather has not been kind to the Spartan baseball team as many games have been rescheduled with the cold and rainy weather the past few weeks that ultimately moved the game to today. Coming into today's contest with the Kohawks, the Spartans were on a five game skid and looking to finally break through and get back on track in conference play. The Spartans got on the board early with a 3-0 lead through two innings of play. The Kohawks then made a run in the 6th inning as they grabbed a 5-3 lead. The Kohawk lead would be brief as the Spartans would answer with a seven run seventh inning to blow the game open 10-5 before adding another insurance run in the ninth to beat the Kohawks 11-5.

Middlebury scored four times in the bottom of the eighth inning to pull out a 7-5 victory over Union on Wednesday. The Panthers tied the game in the home half of the eighth when Mitchell Schroeder delivered a big two-run single through the left side to tie the game (5-5), advanced to second on the throw and ended the play on third after an error. Jack Stolper pinch ran for Schroeder and scored two batters later on a single to right by Ashely for a 6-5 edge. The Panthers added an insurance run, as Zip Malley drove home Ashley with a base hit for the 7-5 victory. Alec Ritch pitched a perfect ninth inning for his first save of the season, while George Goldstein (1-1) earned the win with 1.2 innings of work.

Shenandoah University banged out 15 hits Wednesday afternoon in a 12-11 ODAC victory over host Eastern Mennonite. Shenandoah (18-8-1, 5-4-1 ODAC) jumped all over the Royals (8-17, 4-8) for a combined nine runs in the first three innings but found itself in a game after EMU put up a six-spot in the sixth. Leading 11-9 in the ninth, Shenandoah scored what proved to be the game-winning run as Lisa came around to score from second base as the Royals had an infield throwing error on Anthony Ward's groundball to short. EMU hit a two-run home run in the last of the ninth to come within one run at 12-11 before Tad Dean got the final two outs on a strikeout and a flyout to post his first save of the season.

Fifteen different players reached base as the Catholic University flew past cross-town rival Gallaudet, 18-4, in seven innings on Wednesday night at Hoy Field. The Cardinals (20-6, 6-0 LC) have now won five games in a row and 18 of their last 20. Catholic used 13 different pitchers, with none working more than 1.0 inning. Senior Nick Marini started the game for the Cardinals, allowing no hits and striking out one in the opening frame. He earned his first win of the season on the mound. Junior starting pitcher Frank Diaz took the loss on the mound as he pitched three innings and tallied two strikeouts. Freshman Robert Quigley came in to relieve Diaz and struck out a career-high five batters in two innings of work.

Behind a solid pitching performance from Nick Manthei, Edgewood College defeated UW-Platteville in non-conference action on Wednesday. Manthei struck out 12 batters and allowed only three runs in a 7-4 victory. Manthei picked up the win on the mound, allowing just three runs in six innings of work. The freshman also notched a career-high 12 strikeouts in the victory. The Eagles also used Anthony Schatz, who picked up his first two strikeouts as an Eagle through two innings of work. Conner Dunfee earns the save, striking out two and allowing only one hit in the final inning. Most impressively, the Eagles pitching staff did not record a walk in the victory.

Sophomore right-hander Corey Knauf nearly did something no College of Wooster pitcher has done, and senior right fielder Ben Hines clubbed a pair of home runs during the Fighting Scots' 10-0 game-one win over Hiram College on Wednesday afternoon at Art Murray Field. The Terriers stormed back to take the nightcap 9-4. Knauf (3-1), who logged Wooster's (11-7, 2-2 North Coast Athletic Conference) first 15-strikeout game in 78 years on March 25 against Williams College, carried a no-hitter into the final inning in Wednesday's opener. Had the no-no remained intact, Knauf would have became the first pitcher in program history to have a 15-strikeout game and a no-hitter. Alas, Hiram (8-10, 1-3 NCAC) center fielder Curtis Caithaml laced a leadoff single up the middle in the seventh inning, in what marked the Terriers' lone hit of the game. Knauf, who recorded his first career shutout, struck out five and faced just four batters over the minimum, thanks in part to the Scots going around the horn for an inning-ending two-for-one special in the second inning. Stephen Javorek (3-2) kept Wooster at bay on the scoreboard despite allowing 11 base runners in six innings. He gave up eight hits and three runs (two earned). Jacob Kocuba (save 3) went the rest of the way, allowing a run on four hits. He was helped tremendously by an interference call on a strikeout that resulted in a double play.

Wesley Arrington made his fourth start of the year and allowed two runs over two innings. Jack Bachmore delivered five innings of one-run ball and was the pitcher of record when the Hornets jumped out to a lead. Avery Neaves extended his on-base streak to 26 games with a hit and two walks. Riley O'Donovan drove in two runs with a single. Josh Gjormand poked three hits for the third time in the last four games, and Gavin Collins reached base four times. The 2021 ODAC Freshman of the Year has multiple hits in six of the last eight games. Thurman struck out the side in the eighth and faced the minimum in the ninth to clinch Lynchburg's tenth conference win.

Senior Nicholas Butler drove in three runs on three hits, while Jimmy Liberatore and Jake Delaney each drove in two as St. Lawrence University battled to an 11-7 win over SUNY Canton on Wednesday afternoon at Tom Fay Field. The Scarlet and Brown improved to 12-6 on the season, while the Roos fell to 3-17. "Today we had great contributions from 9 different pitchers and many of our hitters," said head coach Kenny Collins "The effort and energy was there, although we are still working through some issues with free bases and playing clean baseball for a full 9 innings. Another big series coming up this weekend versus RIT that we are looking forward to.
