Rinsky named Ramapo head coach

Mahwah, NJ:  Interim Athletic Director Jan Koslowsky announced today the hiring of Ryan Rinsky as the full-time baseball coach effective August 31st.  Rinsky brings a wealth of experience to the College as a former collegiate and professional baseball player and coach himself. 
 
"We are excited to add Ryan as a fulltime member of the athletic department family.  His experience with the program can only strengthen as he continues to recruit and coach well rounded student-athletes," Koslowsky said.  Rinsky will enter his fifth year with the program as he has served at the helm for the past four years in a part time capacity. 

"I'm extremely excited to start this new chapter as the full-time head baseball coach and coordinator of intramural sports," Rinsky stated. 
 
Under his direction, the 2022 team made their seventh straight appearance in the NJAC Tournament and 19th overall in program history.  The Roadrunners have combined for 57 wins with Rinsky at the helm, while making the NJAC post-season tournament each year it was held.
 
"In the last four years, we have built a culture that exemplifies Ramapo pride," Rinsky added. "I'm looking forward to continue to strengthen this Ramapo team while creating an intramural environment inclusive and competitive for all Ramapo students."
 
A four-year (2013-2016) standout for the Roadrunners behind the plate, Rinsky helped lead Ramapo to 119 wins including a 2015 NCAA New England Regional Championship and a 2016 NJAC Championship. The Roadrunners also advanced to the 2015 NCAA Division III World Series while they recorded three 30+ win seasons and made three appearances in the NCAA Tournament.
 
During his career at Ramapo he collected 89 hits including 14 doubles and two home runs while driving in 50 RBI and scoring 58 runs of his own. He recorded a career .232 batting average and a career on base percentage of .400. He drew 76 walks and 36 hit by pitches. Behind the plate he threw out 66 runners attempting to steal and posted 815 career putouts and 143 career assists.
 
Rinsky, who was named to the NCAA New England All-Tournament Team, signed a professional baseball contract with the Florence Freedom of the Frontier League in 2017 and played three seasons with the club. In 124 games with the Freedom, he collected 53 hits including five doubles, one triple and one home run. He also posted 32 RBI and scored 31 runs.
 
Before returning to Ramapo, Rinsky served as a catching instructor for the New Jersey Nationals travel ball program for six years.
