DOYLESTOWN (Pa.) -- Delaware Valley University Director of Athletics David Duda announced on Tuesday morning that Kyle Fleming was promoted  to Head Baseball Coach after serving as assistant coach last season under his predecessor Kyle Lindsay.

Fleming becomes the second full-time head coach in DelVal baseball history and just the fifth in the last 50 years.

Last season, Fleming and Lindsay inherited a three-win team and elevated the Aggies to its best mark since 2017, going 15-23 overall.

"Kyle was a big part of the development within our baseball program over the last year, as the team made great strides," said Duda. "He was heavily involved in all aspects of the program and has a great plan and vison for its continued growth. We all look forward to a very bright future of our baseball program under his leadership."

In addition to the team success on the field, Fleming helped 14 student-athletes earn MAC Academic Honor Roll accolades and saw senior center fielder Timmy Lallis named a first-team all-conference honoree last season.

A native of Louisa, Viriginia, Fleming graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 2009 with a bachelor's degree in economics. Fleming was the graduate assistant with the Army Baseball team and then continued his service as an officer in the Air Defense Artillery branch.

Prior to coming to DelVal, Fleming interned with the Washington Nationals for a year and then spent five years as a video scout/coordinator for the Toronto Blue Jays of Major League Baseball. He also spent time as an associate scout for the Nationals and Atlanta Braves.

"I'm thoroughly excited to be selected to lead the Delaware Valley baseball program. We plan on building on the progress and strides we made last year as a team under Coach Lindsay and look to develop into a perennial winning program."

Last season with the Aggies, Fleming was responsible for coordinating recruiting efforts, developing and executing practice plans, strategic team building, transportation, development and ramp-up programs for pitchers and assisting with fundraising efforts. Fleming also played a big role in the planning of the renovations to the baseball field last year that included new bullpens and batting cages.

DelVal baseball is slated to begin its 2023 campaign on Friday, February 24 at Rutgers – Camden. The home opener is set for Friday, March 10 against Rosemont College.
