Calvin starting pitcher Connor Comiskey pitched five shutout innings in his collegiate debut to lead the Knights to a 9-2 win in the opener. The Knights opened a 5-0 lead and that would be more than enough for Comiskey, who allowed only one hit and four walks while striking out five in five scoreless innings to earn the win. Calvin led for much of the way in game two, but Wartburg came through with two runs in the seventh inning to score the walk-off win and the doubleheader split. "Overall it was a really good day for college baseball," Calvin head baseball coach Kevin Van Duyn said. "Two good teams played good defense with good pitching. We got solid starting pitching from Connor and Matt, with Connor getting his first college win. We hit great in the opener with 13 hits."

York closed out their 2023 Myrtle Beach Spring Trip with an 11-8 win over Cabrini on Wednesday afternoon in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The Spartans took an early lead and then hung on as the Cavaliers made a late run before York closed out the game in the ninth. Bryce Shaffer gave York an insurance run in the ninth as he ripped a double down the left field like scoring Chris Nesensohn, who singled with one out in the inning. The Cavaliers got that run back but Yandel Tolentino came out of the Spartan pen to close the door and get the final three outs of the game.

The Houghton Highlanders picked up their first two wins of the season behind a pair of solid outings, some timely hitting, and some pressure on the base paths, sweeping the Chatham Cougars, 5-4 and 5-3. In the opener, Jeremey Wilcox struck out six batters over four innings, giving up four hits, and Trevor Ciccotti picked up his first win of the season, tossing a near-perfect three innings out of the pen. Ciccotti allowed only one baserunner, who reached on a throwing error. Aiden Talcott picked up his first collegiate victory in game two, tossing a complete game, while allowing only six hits and one walk, while striking out three. "Overall we played quite well today. Adding Chris [VanCheri] and Sebastian [Rodriguez] to our lineup definitely gave us a boost.
"I felt like we were able to play baseball today the way I anticipated we would play this year—putting pressure on opponents on offense and defense; dictating the terms. It wasn't a perfect day, but it was certainly a good day. We made a lot of progress today and I'm looking forward to developing some momentum tomorrow," said Houghton head coach Brian Reitnour

Pitchers continued to steal the spotlight for Saint Mary's (Minn.) during the second day of their spring trip. Timmy Smith and two relivers scattered nine hits, while allowing just two runs in leading the Cardinals to their first win of 2023, a 3-2 victory over Milwaukee School of Engineering Monday morning. MSOE threatened in the top of the ninth, getting a runner to third with two outs, but Eric Charest induced a game-ending pop-out to short to seal the SMU win — and his first collegiate save.  Smith picked up his first win of the season, allowing two runs on seven hits through five innings. Eric Stomberg blanked the Engineers on one hit in three innings of relief, while Charest surrendered one ninth-inning hit in his one inning of work. A last inning run and a key three-run home run from Martin Marintchev led RPI to an 8-8 tie with Western New England in each program's first game of the season. Each side is now 0-0-1 to begin the 2023 season. After a clean first inning, Western New England blew up for five runs in the top of the second inning, highlighted by a two-run home run from Paul Villecco that sailed over the right field fence. RPI broke the ice and got on the board in the bottom of the fourth when Ayush Krishnappa collected the first of his three hits on the afternoon, doubling down the left field line to score Jack Moncur. The Golden Bears regained the lead back heading into the bottom of the ninth. After RPI's Marintchev reached base on a walk to begin the ninth, Krishnappa roped a ball through the right side of the field for an RBI single, scoring pinch runner Phillip Li to tie the game at 8-8.
