Montclair, NJ – RYAN MCKENNA hit for the cycle as the No. 23 Montclair State baseball team upended Lehman College 25-0 Tuesday.
 
McKenna singled in the first, homered in the third, and doubled and tripled in the fourth for the second cycle in as many seasons for Montclair State (7-1).
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Montclair State scored four times in the first, with MILES FEASTER notching an RBI single with SAM ANGELO and ANTHONY GUARINO recording RBI doubles. The Red Hawks tacked on a run in the second as PETER COSENTINO lofted a sacrifice fly to score REECE MALEK.
  • MICHAEL TODARO made his first career start and didn't allow a hit until a single in the top of the third. Montclair State padded their lead in the third, putting up a four spot. Malek delivered an RBI single before McKenna homered to right-center, bringing up three runs.
  • The Red Hawks tallied 15 runs in the fourth on 10 hits. JASON MOORE belted a three-run homer before ETHAN SARMIENTO lined a run-scoring double to left. McKenna came up with the bases loaded and brought three more runners. Later in the inning, the senior came up with bags packed again, and he tripled all three home, completing the cycle.
  • Montclair finished the scoring in the fifth, as MATTEO PASCULLI drove in a run via a hit-by pitch.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

  • McKenna drove in eight runs, which marked the second-most in school history.
  • The 25 runs and 15 runs in the fourth matched a season-high, set in the second game of the season against McDaniel.
  • Feaster was a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate as Malek went 3-for-4.
  • Todaro notched his first collegiate, tossing five scoreless frames. The rookie allowed two hits and struck out six.
  • RYAN KRUG made his Montclair debut, throwing the final two innings with six punch-outs.
