Keuka team had to escape the New York weather to finally begin their season. They opened 2023 with a doubleheader split with SUNY Poly in sunny Florida. The Wildcats won the opener on an extra-inning walk-off, but Keuka (1-1) rebounded for a 5-4 victory in game two. SUNY Poly got a two-out RBI to tie the game and send the game to extras tied 3-3. The Wolves garnered only a walk in the top of the eighth. In the bottom, SUNY Poly got a two-out single. However, the next batter reached on an error and the ball bounded far enough away to allow the runner to score from first as SUNY Poly defeated the Wolves 4-3 in game one. Game two was another close one but Keuka turned the tables and the game was decided late. SUNY Poly used a walk, two singles, and an error to score three runs in the top of the sixth to tie the game. Josh Tryon hit a one-out double to start a Keuka rally in the bottom of the sixth. The Wolves would load the bases and Derek Novicki worked a walk to score Tryon and give the Wolves a 5-4 lead. Kole Schmerder entered the game in the sixth and cleaned up the seventh for the Wolves. The sophomore struck out a pair of batters and then got a flyout for a 1-2-3 inning as the Wolves defeated SUNY Poly 5-4.

Bethel remains undefeated on their spring trip after a decisive 7-0 victory over the number three team in the nation, UW-Stevens Point on Friday afternoon. The Royals improve to 8-2 on the season. Bethel pitcher Marcus Krupke stole the spotlight in this game, throwing eight innings of scoreless baseball with one walk and seven strikeouts on the day to earn his second win of the season. Justin Winterfeldt and Keenan Hodgkin had impressive days at the plate, with both players picking up three RBI's. This game was a pitcher's duel for the majority of the day between Tyler Beyer of UW-Stevens Point and Marcus Krupke of the Royals.

Olivet College defeated Muskingum (Ohio), 8-6, this afternoon at the Mose Morehead Stadium. Olivet took a 2-0 lead in the second inning when freshman Will Myrick laced a two-run single.The Comets traded runs until Olivet extended its lead to 8-3 with three runs in the eighth inning. Muskingum would score three more runs but not close clser than the two run margin. On the mound, freshman Bryan Carney earned the win. An off field incident has prompted the cancellation of the rest of the series.

In the battle of top-25 opponents, it was No. 23 Cal Lutheran that started the series with a win as they defeated No. 21 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps 8-3 on Friday afternoon. Chris Torres opened the game and pitched for six innings. He got the win as he only allowed two hits and one run. He also had four strikeouts. The Stags attempted a final comeback in the top of the ninth inning as they scored two more runs, but the Kingsmen held them back and took the win. Gordon Richardson had two RBI and Zach Lafata, Joseph Scalzo , Kyle Reuser, and Josh Quinn had one each. Lafata had two doubles.

Misericordia scored 16 runs in the sixth and seventh innings to beat Delaware Valley, 23-5, in the opening game of their MAC Freedom series, Friday in Doylestown. Derrick Vosburg had two hits and four RBI and Connor Maryniak drove in three runs on a double and a homer. Garrett McIlhenney scored five runs and drove in two and Nick Giardino and Brock Bollinger both had two RBI. The Cougars had 13 hits, 13 walks and nine HBP. Steve Rinda struck out five in three innings of relief to earn the win. Max Oliver struck out seven in four innings and Adam Juchnik struck two in one scoreless inning in a game that was called after eight innings.

Mount Saint Vincent closed out their spring break trip today against the Marywood Pacers, looking to end their trip with a victory. They did just that with an easy 14-3 victory over the Pacers. The Dolphins pulled out the victory today behind a strong offensive presence and a stellar pitching performance from junior pitcher/outfielder Sean Kennedy. Kennedy went seven innings allowing no runs, while tallying 10 strikeouts and one walk. The Dolphins went down 2-0 early in the first inning, but would answer with one of their own in the bottom half of the inning to cut the deficit to 2-1 thanks to freshman Drew Knight's first collegiate home run. The Dolphins never looked back after the first inning, scoring three more in the bottom half of the second to take the lead 4-2, this time courtesy of an RBI single from freshman Will Granata and a two RBI single from fellow freshman Johnny Brucato.

After dropping a one-run game in Friday's opener, LeTourneau rebounded and scored six runs in the ninth inning of game two to break a 2-2 tie and complete an 8-2 victory at Concordia Texas in ASC action in Austin. LeTourneau (9-11, 3-5 ASC) fell in the opener, 3-2, as Concordia (12-7, 5-3 ASC) produced two runs in the bottom of the seventh to walk off with the win. The YellowJackets were stymied through seven innings by Concordia pitching, but the bats came alive over the final two innings. Will Bond (2-1) shut the door in the ninth to collect the win as he tossed the final two innings in relief and did not allow a run. In a fast game, LeTourneau had a 2-1 lead entering the seventh inning only to see the host Tornados score twice to walk off with a 3-2 victory in the seven-inning affair.

The top three hitters in the Eastern Connecticut State lineup combined for nine hits and 16 total bases as the No. 5 nationally-ranked Warriors broke open a scoreless game by scoring nine runs in the fifth and six innings in a 10-1 victory over Worcester State University Friday evening at the Ripken Experience. Worcester (4-6) senior righty Kevin Zarnoch (0-2) spaced three hits through the first four innings before Eastern (8-1) sent nine batters to the plate and scored five runs in the fifth, then sent eight batters to the plate and tacked on four more in the sixth. Eastern reached Zarnoch for ten hits and nine runs, chasing him in the sixth when junior shortstop Zach Donahue (South Windsor) hit a three-run home run and junior rightfielder Jason Claiborn (Prospect) followed with a triple. In their first game this year against a New England opponent, Eastern collected a season-high 16 hits, four of them for extra bases.

Playing in their 12th and final game at the Bob Gladwin Baseball Complex at Lawnwood, Kenyon finished their spring break slate on a high note with a dominant 15-2 win over Marywood. The Owls improved to 9-3 through a dozen games, finishing their Florida campaign on a four-game winning streak after prevailing over the Pacers (6-5). The 13-run margin matched Kenyon's largest win of the season, and the team's 15 runs are the second-most behind a 16-3 win over Thiel College on March 8. The Owls have outscored opponents by an outrageous 40-8 mark over the last four games despite three of the games going just seven innings. Kenyon's offense opened the game with five runs in the second inning and never looked back. The Owls sent nine hitters to the plate in the frame, notching four hits, a walk, and a hit-by-pitch. Kyle Dwyer, Nate Rosen, and Drew Robinson all recorded RBIs before Malcolm Gaynor hit a two-out, two-RBI single to cap the scoring. Kenyon scored in every subsequent inning except the sixth, adding two runs in the third, three runs in the fourth, one in the fifth, three more in the seventh, and one in the eighth in their final at-bats.

Phil Sedalis had a two-run single in the seventh inning as #11 Rowan (8-3) scored six runs to rally for a 12-7 win over Southern Maine in baseball action at the RussMatt Invitational, as the Profs won their third straight. The Profs held a 6-2 lead but Southern Maine (1-7) scored five runs in the sixth to take a 7-6 lead Sedalis' long single brought home Anthony Schooley and Dylan Maria for the eventual winning runs, putting Rowan up 9-7. The Profs added more when Karson Harcourt singled but ended up driving in two runs due to a Southern Maine error. Tyler Cannon added the insurance run when he doubled to score Harcourt.

Penn State Harrisburg used the long ball to overcome an early deficit and rally for a 5-4 win over United East foe Lancaster Bible in the team's conference opener on Friday afternoon. Dallas Hite had a massive day at the plate, hitting a pair of solo home runs, including the go-ahead blast in the eighth inning, to go along with a triple. Josh Berzonski was stellar in relief, earning the win after throwing the final five frames and racking up six strikeouts. Kevin Lehner hit a two-run home run and Matt Parks had a multi-hit outing.

Lebanon Valley began their Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth title defense with a huge 17-5 win at Eastern on Friday afternoon in their first conference game of the year. The game was called after the eighth inning due to darkness. The Dutchmen scored a season-high 17 runs on a season-high 17 hits and a season-high 12 walks. Shane Stossel had a career-high 4-4 day at the plate with four RBI. He was a triple shy of the cycle and drew one walk. Justin Ranker hit his first career home run and had a career day with two hits, three RBI, and two runs scored.

Dickinson finished off a dominant 8-0 spring break trip in Florida by sweeping a non-conference doubleheader, 3-1 and 19-7, against Westminster (Pa.) on Friday morning. The two wins pushed the Devils unbeaten streak to 11. Christian Kim had the big hit for the Red Devils who blasted an offering over the left-field wall to take a 3-1 edge with five in the books. Kim was also in the middle of an offensive explosion for Dickinson who secured a 19-3 victory for the sweep.

Muhlenberg came back four times to defeat TCNJ, 7-6, in the first game of a doubleheader in Florida. The Lions took the second game, 8-2. In the opener, the Mules (5-6-1) trailed 2-0 in the middle of the fifth, 4-2 in the middle of the sixth, 5-4 in the middle of the seventh and 6-5 in the middle of the ninth. The first three times, they tied the score in the bottom half of the inning. Junior Nick Stannard, a pinch-hitter, reached first on an error to lead off the bottom of the ninth. Senior Jake Swerdloff and sophomore Aidan Legner followed with well-placed sacrifice bunts, and both times the TCNJ pitcher threw the ball away. That set up sophomore Brendan Hughes with the bases loaded and nobody out, and he delivered after falling behind 0-2, lining a double into the gap in right-center to easily score sophomore Brendan Bussiere (pinch-running for Stannard) and Swerdloff with the tying and winning runs.

Junior Will Haskell punched a bases loaded single into right center field to give the Wheaton (Mass.) a walk-off 7-6 victory over Ithaca in 10 innings this afternoon at Lake Myrtle Park in Auburndale, Fla. as part of the RussMatt Invitational. Wheaton loaded the bases in the bottom of the 10th with one out before scoring the winning run. Senior shortstop Cavan Brady led off the inning by lacing a single through the left side before senior catcher Robert Wirtanen was hit by a pitch. Junior Amedeo Ucci was looking to put a sacrifice bunt down with a full count, but pulled his bat back in favor of ball four to load the bases. Ithaca was able to get a forceout at the plate on a ground ball to second, but the sacks remained full for Haskell. The junior stepped in from the left side and clubbed a high fastball into a vacant right-center field gap to plate Wirtanen with the winning run.

No. 19 Trinity (Texas) posted a seven-inning run-rule victory in its Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference-opener Friday night against Austin College, 10-0, walking off with one out in the seventh. The Tigers (10-5) collected another career-highlight performance from junior right-hander Joseph Chavana as he tied his career high of 11 strikeouts—a mark set in last year's series with the Kangaroos—to go with the shutout, allowing just one hit and two walks in his abbreviated complete game. Trinity collected three multi-RBI performances on the night in Chavana's support, led by junior second baseman Colt Harris with three batted in, followed by two each from junior first baseman Kai Tinker and junior designated hitter Cristian Holloway.

In their first game following their participation at the Rikpen Experience in Myrtle Beach, St. Joseph's (Brooklyn) earned a 5-4 win over CCNY before falling short in the nightcaop 6-1. The bases were loaded with one out for Leary in the seventh of game one. He sent the first pitch of the at-bat to center field, allowing Doug Paider and TJ Moussette – who beat out a play at the plate – to score and winning the game 5-4 in walkoff fashion. Scoring for game two began in the fourth inning when the Beavers hit Bears' starter Sean Henris for four runs. They scored two more in the fifth. The Bears earned a consolation run when Leary scored on Lombardi's double to Center as the contest ended 6-1.

William Paterson (8-4) swept a seven-inning doubleheader against Roger Williams (1-8), 13-4 and 7-1, at the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational. In the opener, Dan Carter was 3-for-4 with two RBI and three runs scored, and Steve Yelin posted a double, home run, two RBI and three runs. William Paterson again struck foirst in game two and never trailed. it was the same starts in game one who shone in the second. Carter went 2-for-2 with three RBI, and Yelin hit a three-run homer.

Penn State Abington split its first UEC doubleheader of the season against visiting Penn College on Friday afternoon at Alverthorpe Park. The Wildcats took the opener, 13-7, before the Nittany Lions salvaged the doubleheader with a convincing 10-2 victory. In game one, both teams had a big inning but it was the others that provide Penn College the margin of victory. In game two, senior Brandon Hightower held Penn College to just four hits through seven innings. His only blemish came in the top half of the first when the Wildcats scored an unearned run to take a 1-0 lead to start the game. Abington put the game away with a five-run sixth inning. Junior Justin Fogel led the inning off with his third home run of the season. Including Fogel, five different players drove in runs in the inning. The Nittany Lions took advantage of four walks by Wildcat pitchers.

Kean split a doubleheader with SUNY New Paltz falling in the opener, 2-1 and winning the nightcap, 3-1. Game one was a pitchers' duel from the start as neither team was able to get their offense going. New Paltz (3-6) plated a single run in the top of the fourth as Matt Sarni reached via a single with one out. The Hawks scored the go-ahead run in the next inning as Tommy Kreider singled with one out and after swiping second, was driven home by a single from Christopher Sais. The Cougars plated all their runs in the second inning and Justin Diefenbach (2-1) made it stand up. Diefenbach earned the win after tossing five tidy innings. He allowed no runs on four hits with no walks and five strikeouts.

Andrew Veit threw nearly eight stellar innings for Plattsburgh, as Plattsburgh State defeated Worcester State 8-2 in Myrtle Beach. Veit went 7.2 innings, striking out eight and scattering 11 hits as he gave up just two runs and walked just one. The Cards lineup took advantage of five Worcester State errors, as six of their eight runs scored were unearned. Mike Rasquin and Conner Gonzalski each had multi-hit days with two singles each, as Rasquin walked and scored a run and Gonzalski had an RBi and a run scored. Kyle Cremin and Nick Cergol each reached base twice and drove in a run for the Cards. Logan Avin worked 1.1 innings of scoreless ball to earn his first career save in the team's win.

The No. 7 Endicott defeated Occidental, 16-2, in non-conference action on Friday evening at Anderson Field. Brendan Flaven, Caleb Shpur, Nicolas Notarangelo, Jake Nardone, and TJ Liponis all homered in the victory. Nardone (three-run), Liponis (solo), Shpur (two-run), and Notarangelo (solo) all belted roundtrippers in the fourth, while Flaven connected for a two-run shot in the sixth. Endicott is 4-0 in the all-time series against Occidental.

The Johns Hopkins Blue Jays erased an early six run deficit with some timely hitting to rally back and defeat the Dutchmen, 7-6. Johns Hopkins fell behind 6-0 in the first three innings after two RBI fielders choices from Hope and RBI hits from Nolan Gardner and Owen Krizan. Ryan Anderson would be the bridge for the Blue Jays pitching staff, coming in a throwing 4.2 shut out innings, while only allowing two hits and pushing out two. Johns Hopkins would grab their first lead of the game in the bottom of the eighth. With Dylan Whitney standing out on second base, Matthew Cooper drove a base-hit to left field, four his fourth hit of the game, to bring Whitney home and put the Blue Jays on top, 7-6. Hope would not go down without a fight as they loaded the bases in the ninth with two outs against Ben Keever. Keever got ahead in the count and blew a two strike fast ball by Kirzan to strand all three runners and close out the victory.

Two ninth inning runs lifted Messiah to a victory over the Stevenson Mustangs on Friday afternoon by a 6-5 final score. Messiah entered the bottom of the ninth, trailing 5-4, but a sacrifice fly from Joshua Ammons tied things up before Sam Zercher launched a walk-off double off the centerfield wall for the game winner. Earlier in the game, Messiah held a 4-0 lead, but Stevenson rallied back with four runs in a wild seventh inning before taking the lead in the eighth at 5-4. The Falcons threatened in the seventh and eighth, but were unable to find the big hit until the bottom of the ninth with Sam Zercher's heroics.

A hot-hitting Oneonta squad earned its fifth consecutive win to move to 7-3 overall following a 14-7 victory over Beloit (4-4) on Friday morning. The Red Dragons totaled 14 hits, with 11 different batters registering a hit. on the final day of the RussMatt Florida Invitational. Everytime Beloit would score, the Red Dragons were back at it, equalinging their output, preventing Beloit to make headway in the game. Nate Guillen finished going 3-for-4 with a double, four RBI, and a run. Jake Barrett hit 2-for-2 with two runs and an RBI. Devin Rooney (3-0) pitched 6.0 innings with six strikeouts.

Michael Weinbel and the Rutgers-Newark Scarlet Raiders won their second straight this morning with a 4-1 win over Rochester Tech as part of the Russ Matt Central Florida Invitational. The battle between the Scarlet Raiders and Tigers saw six scoreless innings as Michael Scaglione and John Arnold went punch for punch in an early pitcher's duel. RIT (5-4) struck broke the dead lock in the bottom of the 7th inning after two runners reached via walks. The eventual run was brought home by Dodig with a single to right field. After going down in order in the top of the 8th, the Scarlet Raiders (9-4) had one last chance to tie the game up to force extra innings, and they did just that. Paul Recchia hit a one-out single to right field before Reid Duffus plated Jesse Evensen with an RBI double also to right field. Rutgers-Newark capitalized on two errors in the top of the 10th backed by two hits to score three runs. Weinbel finished the game for the Scarlet Raiders 2-for-5 with 2 RBIs, both of which were team highs. Weinbel, with two one out, doubled to left field to score Eric Recchia and Jon Rosado before he eventually stole home.

The Etta Express rolled to its sixth straight win with a 12-2 victory over Kalamazoo College Friday evening at Pioneer Park. Marietta improves to 10-4 on the season, while Kalamazoo falls to 4-4 overall. Sophomore Zach Marzetz (2-0) tossed 5.0 shutout innings of relief to get the win. He allowed just one hit, walked one and struck out two. Gino Sabatine started and threw 3.0 innings allowing two runs on four hits with one walk and four strikeouts. Ben Sobb retired all three batters he faced in the ninth inning. Marietta scored three unearned runs in the bottom of the first inning and never trailed in the game. Ty Davis drove in the first run with a sacrifice fly that allowed Alex Richter, who reached on a single, to tag and score. Brett Carson scored on an error by the Kalamazoo second baseman and Trent Valentine added an RBI single plating Ben Kaplin who reached on the error.

A two-run home run by junior Tyler Reistetter, his second long ball in as many games, proved to be the difference as USMMA held on for a 3-2 victory against Alfred State. Senior Jared Chambers went 2-for-4 with an RBI for USMMA (6-4), while sophomore Michael Monkevich surrendered one run in 6.0 innings of work to earn the victory. Alfred State (8-5) was held scoreless until a two-run seventh.
