No. 3 Shenandoah recorded its third shutout of the season Monday with a 10-0 non-league victory at Penn State - Harrisburg. Gavin Horning's four RBI, including a solo home run, helped the Hornets (29-4) offensively, while the pitching staff pitched for the shutout against the Lions (24-7).

No. 4 Baldwin Wallace picked up a non-conference victory over Hiram as flakes fell at the Fisher Field by a final score of 8-5
. BW (23-5) was led by junior infielder Nick Clark who went 3-for-4 at the plate with two runs batted in. Senior first baseman Alexis Castillo went 2-for-4 at the plate and hit a home run in the second consecutive game as he drove in two RBIs. Senior right-handed pitcher Clay Anderson picked up the start going four innings and allowing two runs on two hits and striking out four. Junior right-handed pitcher Dan Petrouskie picked up his win at BW after pitching two and two-third innings and allowing a run and striking out four. Freshman left-handed pitcher Brit Kostura pitched a perfect ninth to pick up his first career save.

On a rainy Patriots Day in Boston, Suffolk secured Boston Commons bragging rights with a convincing 20-2, seven-inning triumph over Beantown neighbor Emerson Monday at East Boston Memorial Park. Suffolk's scoring started in the first and with four more in the third to extended their edge to 10-0. Emerson eliminated the shutout in the fourth. The Lions tacked on two runs to chip the distance down to eight, 10-2. The Rams were held scoreless in the fourth before putting a six-spot up in the fifth to make things lopsided, 16-2. With a commanding lead, Suffolk kept its foot on the gas pedal in the sixth to pad the cushion even more and push the margin to 20-2.

University of Chicago split its Midwest Conference doubleheader with Grinnell on Monday, winning 21-14 in the opener before suffering an 18-14 setback in the second game. In a wild affair on a windy day in Iowa, the Maroons scored 14 runs in the first three innings and led 14-5 after three. UChicago then plated three more in top of the seventh and again in the top of the eight to cruise to a seven-run victory. The Maroons used the game one momentum early in the second game, racing out to an 11-6 lead after four innings. Grinnell answered with a big sixth inning, however, plating seven runs to take a 15-13 lead. The Pioneers added three more runs in the final three innings and UChicago only managed to get one across, falling 18-14.

Muskingum used clutch offense in game two to earn an electrifying doubleheader sweep over Franciscan on Monday afternoon. The Muskies dominated game one 8-1, and used a six run fifth inning to secure an 11-10 comeback win in the nightcap. Freshman Jackson Duchesne earned his first career win on the mound for Muskingum in game one. Duchesne pitched six innings and gave up one earned run. After trailing 9-3, Muskingum tallied two runs in the fourth inning and six runs in the fifth inning to secure the comeback win in game two. Freshman Sam Palmieri tallied the go-ahead RBI single in the fifth inning that scored junior Anthony Andres.

Mary Washington defeated Marymount, 4-2, on Monday night at Capital One Park in Tysons, Va. UMW jumped ahead immediately in the first, as Jacob Christenbury led off with a double, advanced to third on a passed ball, and scored on a sacrifice fly from Jonathan Sedmak. The Eagles added a run in the fifth, when Luke Guerzon walked and scored on a single from Xavier Herring. The Saints tied the score with two runs in their half of the fifth, but the Eagles went ahead for good with two in the top of the sixth. With one out, Ryan Schwarz singled, stole second, and advanced to third on an error. Guerzon walked and advanced to second, before both runners scored on a single from Mike Dennis. Schwarz and Herring each had two hits for the Eagles, while Guerzon singled and walked twice. Justin Ritz gained the win, pitching eight innings and allowing two runs on eight hits, with two walks and five strikeouts. Brnedan McComber gained the save, getting out of a bases-loaded jame in the ninth.

Framingham State split a doubleheader this afternoon with Salem State taking the opener by a score of 6-0 before falling 5-3 to the Vikings in game two in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference action. In the opener, the Rams got on the board in the top of the first inning on a sacrifice fly from Caleb Hendrix. That was all they needed as Cameron Prescott earned the complete game shutout victory for the Rams. Prescott allowed just five hits with four walks and three strikeouts. In game two, the Vikings got on the board first with a pair of runs in the bottom of the first as they led wire-to-wire. Kyle Banche allowed one run over five innings and Jake Boucher drove in two runs for the Vikings in the nightcap.
