Benedictine improved to 5-0 on the trip to Florida and 7-0 overall by leading nearly the entire game in a 6-2 victory over Hope on Saturday. Ryan Doubek led off the game with a single and stole second. Kevin Bushnell stayed hot but roping a one-out single to give Benedictine the lead. Hope was able to tie the game in the bottom of the first but a double from Chase Hanselman scored Jake Petak and the go-ahead run. Benedictine went on to add three in the fourth and one in the fifth. Eight different individuals posted hits in the game. Bushnell notched two. Eddie Wilson made his first appearance of the year and worked five innings to earn the win, allowing two runs on three hits. Dean Rokkas closed out the game by tossing the final four innings to earn the save.

Kalamazoo gained two more wins over Grinnell and Elmhurst in a round-robin tournament on Saturday by the scores of 11-0 (7 inn.) over the Pioneers and 13-6 over the Bluejays. Kalamazoo improved to 8-0 with the wins, while Grinnell dropped to 3-5 and Elmhurst dropped to 0-5. Jacob Davis (2-0) was on the attack, allowing just three hits and two walks in the complete-game shutout. Davis also struck out two batters. Logan Lockhart was 3-4 at the plate with an RBI. Robert Ahlgren (1-0) earned his first collegiate baseball win after allowing two runs on two hits and a walk with three strikeouts in four innings. Harrison Poeszat finished 3-5 at the plate with six RBI. Cade Preissing went 2-4 with a walk and two RBI. Cooper Mills reached three times on a hit and two walks.

Roger Williams swept Penn State Altoona on Saturday at Myrtle Lake Park by identical 7-5 scores, to remain unbeaten in their Spring Break Trip. In game one, Ty Cali recorded a triple and a double in a 2-for-4 outing, brining in two runs on the game. Aidan Hawley added a pair of hits with an RBI, while Dennis Folan brought in a run with a double. James Nichols earned his first career victory, coming in in relief, throwing and innings worth of work, with one hit, and a walk, while facing five batters. In game two, Lucas Lariviere picked up his first win of the season, with a five-inning outing, giving up seven hits, four runs, and three walks, with three strike outs facing 24 batters, with 90 pitches. Jack Morin went 3-for-4 with three RBIs with Hawley, Christopher Flynn, Camelo, and Hibbard each recording an RBI.

TCNJ kicked off their 2024 season with a 10-1 victory against Concordia University of Chicago on Saturday morning. The Lions (1-0) exploded for eight runs in the first against the Cougars (4-5) and never looked back behind seven strong innings on the bump from LHP Jackson Malouf. After a quick top of the first, TCNJ pounced on their scoring opportunities, scoring eight runs on five hits. In the eighth, Jackson Malouf (7 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 3BB, 4 K) handed pitching duties over to Matt Santos for the last two innings. Santos went six up, six down to close out the win for the Lions in the season opener.

Sophomore right-hander Sean Jost tossed a complete game, four-hit shutout in game two of Saturday's twinbill, as John Jay split with Old Westbury, winning 3-0 in game two after falling 8-2 in the opener. Rob Manetta powered the Panthers, going 3 for 3 at the plate while driving in four of the eight RBIs in the first game. Brian McCloskey also had three hits while scoring two runs. Mateo Martinez led the way with three runs scored while going 1 of 2 from the plate and driving in two RBIs. Nick Papageorge and Mike Petrucelly each had a hit and had an RBI. In his third start of the season, sophomore right-hander Sean Jost tossed a complete game, four-hit shutout in leading the Bloodhounds to a 3-0 win in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader. Jost hurled 79 pitches in the complete game shutout while walking one batter and striking out six batters. Axel Kappes III, John Spallin, and Mike Mauro each had two hits. Quentin Bowman went 1 for 4, connecting on his third home run of the season.

George Fox picked up their third win of the weekend over the Vassar College Brewers, winning 6-2. The game remained tied at two going into the seventh before the Bruins offense was able to cash in on base runners for the first time in the game a four run lead. Ryder Edwards finished out the day for Fox on the mound, starting out with 15 straight strikes and ending the game with a strikeout looking, holding the Brewers to two runs for the third straight game in Fox's 6-2 victory. Shane McClendon led the team in RBIs with three, picking up a double on the day. Ben Wills went five innings with four strikeouts, while Spencer Simon picked up his first career win for the Bruins on the mound.

After waiting through nearly two days of rain delays, Gustavus got back on the field Saturday afternoon and defeated Howard Payne 15-5 in a game that started Thursday. Through seven games this season, the Gusties are proving to have one of the most potent lineups in NCAA Division III, ranking in the top five in five offensive categories. The Gusties rank second in the country in batting average (.426), slugging percentage (.697), and on-base percentage (.532), fourth in triples per game (0.86), and fifth in scoring (14.0). Drake Siens had a perfect day at the plate, batting 5-for-5 with three runs, six RBI, two home runs, and a walk. Mitch Casperson earned his third win of the season after entering the game in relief, starting today's resumption in the third. Casperson tossed six scoreless innings with five hits and six strikeouts. 

DePauw scored three runs in each of the first four innings on the way to a 13-3 win over Manchester in a game shortened to seven innings due to the run rule at Bishop Chatard High School. The Tigers improved to 3-4, while the Spartans dropped to 3-5. Grady Johnson and Danny Glimco each had two of DePauw's nine hits, while Gavin Gleason had two of the Spartans' five hits. Michael Vallone improved to 2-0 after striking out nine and walking just one in six innings before Ben Axelrod struck out two in finishing the Spartans off with a one-two-three seventh. Rocco Hanes dropped to 1-2 for Manchester.

After a rainstorm across the east coast wiped Catholic's initial plans of a doubleheader with Johnson & Wales, the Cardinals pivoted, picking up a 5-3 win over Hilbert College on Saturday afternoon. Day one of the Ripken Experience in South Carolina proved to be an eventful one for the Cardinals as they started the day thinking they had two games with JWU on the docket. However, with heavy rains in the forecast and scheduled travel for Johnson & Wales, Catholic was able to book a game with Hilbert on Saturday morning, scheduled for a 3 p.m. start. Danny Fitzgerald and Joe Marini were the catalysts to victory for Catholic as they walked away with a 5-3 win in Myrtle Beach. Fitzgerald went 6.0 innings, scattering six hits and allowing just one run to earn his first win of the season. The veteran right-hander struck out eight in the victory. Marini made it two straight years with a massive impact in Myrtle, crushing a three-run homer that would prove to put Catholic in the winning position.

St. Olaf hit four home runs in game two of its weekend
opening split at Luther College on Saturday afternoon at
Luther Baseball Field. After being held to two hits in a 5-1
loss in game one, St. Olaf (3-3) overcame an early 3-0
deficit by scoring in five of its final six innings at the plate
in a 13-6 win over Luther (5-3) in game two. The game
two win snapped the Norse's five-game winning streak in
the series between the two programs and was the Oles'
first win over Luther since 2005. The two teams did not
meet between 2005-18.

In a battle of last year's 30-game winners, both took home a win today. Junior righty Matthew Wootton pitched six shutout innings and first-year lefty Chris Torres contributed his second dominant showing in relief as the Eastern Connecticut State University won its first game of the year with a 5-2 victory over Tufts in the first game of a non-conference doubleheader Saturday afternoon at Sol Gittleman Park. In the second game, four Tufts (2-1) pitchers limited Eastern (1-4) to four hits and the Warriors left the bases loaded in the fifth inning in the Jumbos' 5-1 victory.

Sporting a new-minted national ranking of No. 7 in NCAA Division III, Denison started off the Snowbird Classic with 16 hits and a 13-6 win over Babson College on Saturday at Centennial Park in Port Charlotte, Florida. Entering Saturday's matchup, the Big Red and the Beavers were 2-2 against each other in the all-time series that dates back to 1998, when Denison captured a 9-7 victory. Trailing 0-1 , a four-run third inning for the Big Red and big hits made it 10-1 and the rout was on. In the end, Lutte was 3-for-6 with two RBI's, two runs scored, two doubles and a triple while Cade Nowik was 3-for-5 with three runs scored and two RBI's. In all, five Denison players finished with two RBI's in this one.

Saint John's (Minn.) its spring-break trip with a 6-3 win over Muskingum on Saturday morning. The Johnnies (6-4 overall) scored six unanswered runs after the fifth inning, including the go-ahead, three-run homer from senior designated hitter Joe Becker with two outs in the seventh. Junior Will Fazio earned the win in relief by pitching three hitless, scoreless innings. He struck out five and walked three. Senior Wyatt Rudolf pitched a scoreless ninth for his first collegiate save. Junior Connor Hartley allowed three unearned runs on two hits in the no-decision. He struck out five and walked one in five innings and now has a 0.56 ERA, .167 opponent batting average and 14 strikeouts (to one walk) in a team-leading 16 innings pitched this season.

Keystone College kicked off their Spring break trip in style with a dominating 14-1 victory over Utica University Saturday afternoon. Keystone moves to 2-3 and Utica drops to 3-3. Justin Mann went 3-for-4 with two runs scored. Darren Hagan went 2-for-4 with five RBI. He hit a grand slam for the second straight game and had an RBI triple. Chase Boyle and Andy Rivas combined for four hits and three RBI. Quinn Holt picked up his first win of the season as he went five innings with eight strikeouts. He allowed four hits and one earned run. Ryan McCauley and Anthony Mierez both pitched an inning of relief as Mierez recorded a strikeout.

Calvin finished its spring break trip to Florida in style with a pair of wins on Saturday at Northeast Regional Park. Calvin (7-5) won the opener 8-2 against Chatham (4-4), and then came back from a pair of four-run deficits to win 15-10 over Pittsburgh at Greensburg (1-5) to finish its Florida trip with a 7-2 record. The Knights broke open a low scoring game in the final innings to win the opening game 8-2 over Chatham on Saturday morning. Calvin overcame two four-run deficits to defeat Pittsburgh at Greensburg 15-10. "Today was a sign that we are becoming a resilient bunch," Calvin head baseball coach Kevin Van Duyn said. "Our pitching was terrific in the first game, and then in the second game it was impressive for us to come back from two different four-run deficits in our ninth game of the trip really showed our character as a team."

Hobart swept a doubleheader against SUNY Cobleskill this afternoon. Sophomore Teck Nash hurled a two-hit shutout to lead the Statesmen to a 9-0 win in game one, while Hobart rallied from a three-run deficit to win game two 9-5. Sophomore Christian Petry was 4-for-9 on the day with three runs scored and a pair of RBIs. Sophomore Will Jones was 3-for-5 with three runs scored and two RBIs. First-year Connor Schmiedlin was 3-for-6 with a team-high seven RBIs and two runs scored. "We had a great week of practice with focus on the details and it showed today. We played all around good team baseball. Overall good baseball and looking forward building on today." This was the first doubleheader sweep for Hobart since returning to varsity status last season. The Statesmen last swept a doubleheader on April 28, 1995, taking two from Skidmore.

Graduate student right-hander Daniel Johnson matched the program's career wins record and Scranton (4-1) split a pair of contests on the first day of the program's annual Spring Break trip on Saturday at Terry Park in Fort Myers. Johnson did not allow an earned run over six strong innings as the Royals notched a 5-1 victory over Bluffton. Scranton had dropped a close 8-7 decision to Augustana (Ill.) in the first game of the day. Alex Simon led the Vikings in the win with three hits. Brian Fischer earned the win after going five innings with two strikeouts. Johnson allowed just an unearned run over six innings of work and the Royals scored two in the first en route to a 5-1 victory.The Whitehouse Station, N.J., native gave up an unearned run on two hits to go along with two walks and five strikeouts to earn his 18th career victory, matching the record that was set by Drew Morano (1989-92). Later in the Classic, Augustana defeated Franklin and Marshall 16-8.

Brandeis got back to the .500 mark today with a doubleheader sweep of Massachusetts Maritime Academy on the road. The Judges took the opener, 7-4, and completed the sweep with a 7-6 win in nine innings. Tied 4-4 in game one, Brandeis senior Sean Decker-Jacoby came on in relief in the third with a runner on first after a MMA homer, and kept the Buccaneers at bay. Meanwhile Brandeis broke the tie in the top of the fifth thanks to Brian King's first home run of the season, a one-out blast to left-center field. It was the seventh round-tripper of King's career. Decker-Jacoby threw 4.2 innings of work, allowing four hits and no runs. He struck out five and walked two to even his record at 1-1 this season. It was the third win of his career. it was another close game in the nightcap and the ninths decided the contest. The Judges finally took their first lead of the game in the top of the ninth ans scored a key insurance run that made it 7-5. MMA answered in the bottom of the ninth, taking advantage of a one-out hit batter. The Bucs bunted him to second and got a single down the left-field line to pull within 7-6. Another single and a walk loaded the bases for the home team, but graduate student Marc Maestri coaxed a grounder to first, beating the MMA runner to the bag and securing the save, his first of the season and the fifth of his career.

Aurora finished the week long trip to central Florida with a
3-1 win in a match-up of nationally ranked programs. The
#10 Spartans squared up with #18 Wheaton College (Mass.).

Mateus Conaway delivered a dominant performance on the mound and his offense provided more than enough support as the Whitman College captured its second straight Northwest Conference series with a 10-3 win over Linfield on Saturday at Roy Helser Field. Conaway (1-2) gave up three unearned runs in the first inning, but was lights out the rest of the way. He tossed eight complete innings and finished with a final line of just the three unearned runs on five hits with eight strikeouts. Brandon Ting led the way for the Blues (5-5, 4-2 NWC) at the plate, doubling and belting a home run to put his statline at two hits, two runs and two RBI. Elijah Maris posted two hits, two runs and two RBI for the Wildcats who led by three runs and didn't trail until Whitman exploded for four runs in the sixth inning. Wyatt Hurley suffered the loss in one and two-thirds innings of relief work.

Marietta played two games on its final day in Florida and it was feast or famine for the Pioneers on Saturday.The Pioneers lost to North Central College by the score of 1-0 and then turned around and beat Kean 34-12 in game two. Marietta heads home with a 5-7 overall record. North Central (3-4 overall) starting pitcher AJ Kutcher (1-2) threw 7.0 strong innings allowing a pair of singles with one walk and six strikeouts. Three other Cardinals combined to pitch the final 2.0 innings with Luke Lehnen earning the save. In the second game of the day, Marietta batted around in three of the first four innings. The Pioneers plated five runs in the first, nine in the second and four more in the fourth. The Etta Express had another nine-run inning in the sixth and then added five more in the seventh. The Pioneers collected 24 hits in the game and also benefited from seven walks and 10 batters were hit by pitches. Marietta hit three home runs in the sixth inning. Nick Kumor smacked a solo homer, Trent Valentine launched a grand slam, and Austin Amburgey ended the nine-run rally with a solo shot.

A trio of right arms for Otterbein on the mound controlled the entire day in a sweep over Rhode Island College at Terry Park, besting the Anchormen in consecutive games by scores of 8-0 and 9-1 respectively. The Cardinals get a timely bounce-back effort after Friday's disappoint result with Hiram, thanks in large part to pitchers Kyler Archual, Bryson Bell and Nick Plucinski limiting RIC practically all day. Archual ended the day with eight strikeouts and just two hits allowed, improving to 3-0 on the bump this season. Carter hit 3 for 5 in the leadoff spot while Noah Sprowls was on base four times through a variety of ways. Otterbein nearly busted the game open on multiple occasions, stranding 10 runners in the opener and ending two frames with the bases juiced. Bryson Bell picked right back up where his fellow teammate left off, keeping the opponent stymied while his offense continued a similar theme with two quick runs in the first. Plucinski came on to shove the final three innings and get some much-needed work on the trip, earning his second save with three productive/shutout frames. He and Bell each fanned four batters to give the pitching staff a total of 16 K's across the twinbill.

Tyler Cannon hit a three-run homer to key a six-run seventh inning, while Jason Morgan went 4-for-5 at the plate, as #16 Rowan rallied for a 15-7 win over St. John Fisher at historic Sanford Memorial Stadium, as part of the RussMatt Invitational. The win is Rowan's third on the trip as it improves to 4-1. Morgan was 4-for-5 with three runs scored a double and an RBI and Cannon was 2-for-4 with three runs and four RBI. Phil Sedalis went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI and three stolen bases and Dylan Maria had two hits, two runs and two RBI. Brayden Davis earned his first win as a Prof in relief as he went 1.2 innings, allowing just one run while striking out two. Zach Coluccio made the start and went 5.1 innings with Seth Colbert and Ronald Barnebei pitching to a batter each in the sixth inning. Shane Sax closed out the game, throwing 1.2 innings and not allowing a run.

After dropping game one, 6-4, MIT scored five unanswered runs to earn another come-from-behind win over Chapman as the Engineers won game two, 8-5, to earn the doubleheader split. Eli Biehl homered to put the Panthers up two. in the seventh. Teddy Schoenfeld was hit by a pitch to lead off the ninth but was left stranded as Chapman took game one, 6-4. In the nightcap, junior Brian Rapanan went the first four innings for the Engineers and allowed no runs on three hits. He walked three and struck out five. Senior Saketh Gabbita got the win with two innings of work. He allowed one run on two hits with a walk and strikeout. Malone tossed two innings for the save, and allowed no hits or walks and recorded four Ks. Kyle Sonandres led the way with three RBI and three hits in the game.
