Rain suspended games in the Mideast and New York regionals to Friday. Cortland State finished on top of its winners bracket game and Case Western Reserve came back with a win.
Case coach Matt Englander gave Bradley Potter the ball to finished a game suspended with the Spartans down 2-1 with runners on first and third and only one out. Potter scattered 10 hits and allowed three runs as Case ame back for a 12-6 victory vs. Penn State-Altoona. The Spartans then took note at the hitting Marietta conducted in the next game and erupted for nine runs in the first inning as they criused to a 10-4 win over Franklin.
Cortland overcame a 2-1 deficit through three innings with a four-run, three-hit fourth inning, keyed by run scoring hits in succession with two-out from Matt June, Zack Graczyk, and John Adornetto while the defense had to fend out a ferocious mid-game rally on the strength of the opening five batters in the lineup of fifth-seeded Eastern Connecticut State en route to a 7-6 victory. They will play Keystone next. Brad Higgins turned in a stellar mound performance, while the Keystone offense used a three-run fifth inning to provide support for their senior starter, as the Giants topped Farmingdale State 6-2 in a winner's bracket game.

Illinois Wesleyan stayed alive in the Central Regional with a 7-1 win over Ripon. Nick Mehn scattered seven hits and struck out five while allowing only one run in the eighth inning. He got offensive support from the lower part of the lineup as No. 8 hitter Jeff Grodecki and No. 9 hitter Jon Frericks each got three hits.
Cody Koback, the WIAC Position Player of the Year, demonstrated his versatility Friday, providing the game winning hit and picking up the win on the mound as UW-Stevens Point defeated Hamline 5-1 in the Midwest regional.

Piedmont used a late eighth inning run to squeak past Webster in an elimination game in the South regional. The game was a classic pitchers duel as both pitching staffs made few mistakes and limited scoring opportunities. Matt Lisk tossed five innings while yielding just one run for the win. Steven Dooley suffered a tough luck loss as he threw a complete game and faced just two batters above the minimum.
Marietta met Heidelberg for the fifth time this season and routed their conference rival 23-6. It was not until the fifth inning Marietta was kept off the scoreboard as the Pioneers opened the game with five runs in the first, four in the second, three in the third and six in the fourth.
Dustin Herbert and Bill Root combined to go 7 for 8 with three runs scored and three RBI in leading fourth seeded Salisbury to a 7-5 win in an elimination game win over fifth seeded Wabash in game eight of the 2011 NCAA Division III South Regional. The Seagulls used a three run sixth inning turn a 5-4 deficit into a 7-5 lead and held on for the winning margin. Salisbury plated single runs from the second inning through the fifth before a big sixth inning.
Linfield used a five-run fifth inning and held on for a 9-6 win Friday to eliminate Trinity (Texas) from the NCAA Division III West Region Championship. The Wildcats have battled back from a game-one loss to advance to championship day Saturday.

Senior centerfielder Joe Link took off on an attempted steal of second and during his slide the throw from the catcher bounced off Link's helmet into left center field. Link popped up on the slide and continued to third -- and then home with what proved to be the winning run in St, Scholastica's 2-1 win over St. Thomas. Andy Davis, kept the Tommies at bay, allowing seven hits, no walks and two strikeouts. St. Thomas' Kris Edwards also went the distance, giving up nine hits, no walks and six strikeouts.
Kean erased an early 2-0 deficit to defeat Rowan, 4-3. For the top-seeded Cougars, Nick Nolan scored the go-ahead run in the sixth inning and made the game-ending catch in stride in right-centerfield with the tying run on base. Senior right-hander Mike Russo went the distance for the Cougars, as he set a new single season record with his 10th win of the year.
