The weather might have been slightly less hot but the offenses are heating up as the staff aces have already their turn. Endicott has already been eliminated and Salisbury and UW-La Crosse are trying not to join them on Saturday in Cedar Rapids.

Misericordia won going away, as Brooks Bollinger went 3-for-6 and drove in six runs in a 13-6 win against Endicott. The win had a little bit of everything, including a bunt on which the batter came all the way around to score. That sent the Gulls home as the first team eliminated.

Shawn Steurer continued his hot hitting, with doubles in back-to-back innings as part of a six-RBI day to lead Johns Hopkins to a 10-6 win against Baldwin Wallace. The Blue Jays' reward is a Sunday rest day, as JHU is 2-0 in the World Series and will await the survivor of Misericordia and Baldwin Wallace on Monday morning.

Salisbury sent UW-La Crosse home in an elimination game in the third game of the day, and Lynchburg got a masterful pitching performance against East Texas Baptist in the final game of the night to advance to Monday as well.
