VERO BEACH, Fla. - Ian Williams (Taunton, Mass.) tripled in two runs in the bottom of the 9th to tie the score at 14-14 for Bridgewater State University (5-2) against Salve Regina University (0-1) in non-league baseball action at the Vero Beach Sports Village. Williams later scored the game-winner as Matt Barseleau (Holland, Mass.) singled up the middle against a drawn in Seahawk infield.

Senior Brandon Bursie (Smithfield, R.I.) had struck a three-run double down the left field line, highlighting a five-run top of the 9th inning for Salve Regina. The Seahawks were playing in their first game on their spring break trip while the Bears ended their trip with a walk-off win.

Barseleau completed a 3-for-4 afternoon with his fourth run batted in. He rescued right-fielder-turned-reliever Joshua Ferreira (Fall River, Mass.) from the loss column after the right-hander had allowed five earned runs on four hits and a base on balls. Ferreira, the Bears lead-off hitter, was credited with the pitching victory.Tom Glynn - five RBI

In the Bears 9th, Tyler Dennis (Stoughton, Mass.) doubled to left field on the first pitch he saw from Seahawk lefty reliever Laurence Liggett (Manasquan, N.J.). Liggett had worked a scoreless 8th after inheriting a runner on second with no outs. He got the left-handed Tory Buck (Shelburne Falls, Mass.) to ground out to second which advanced Dennis to third. Robin Lowe (Andover, Mass.) relieved Liggett and was greeted by a David Pierce (E. Bridgewater, Mass.) doubled to center.

Williams came to bat after Dave Billotte (Norton, Mass.) worked a free pass. Daniel Kehew (Portsmouth, R.I.) replaced Lowe on the mound and after getting two strikes past Williams, surrendered the game-tying triple.

Seahawk third-baseman Tom Glynn (Woodbridge, Conn.) batted in five runs including a would-be insurance RBI in the 9th. Bursie and fellow outfielder Patrick Quinn (Middletown, N.J.) both had a double among three hits apiece. Lead-off hitter Charles Matarazzo (Montville, N.J.) reached base four times, scored four runs, and stole three bases.

Salve Regina plays a doubleheader versus Muehlenburg on Saturday at the Vero Beach Sports Village (formerly Dodgertown) beginning at noon.
