BETHANY, W.Va. - After taking a 5-0 lead through two and a half innings, the Westminster College baseball team hung on for a 5-2 win at Bethany Sunday. With the win, the Titans clinch a spot in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Tournament for the fourth time in the last five years. The Titans also become just the fifth team in school history to reach the 23-win mark as they are now 23-12 overall and 10-9 in the PAC. Bethany falls to 12-23 and 5-16 in league games.

Junior second baseman Bud Main led the Titans' 11-hit offense by going 3-for-5 with a run scored.

Westminster went up 3-0 in the first inning as sophomore outfielder Kyle Allen hit an RBI single, junior first baseman Tim Wiand  hit a sacrifice fly, and junior catcher David Schafer  plated Allen with a single.

Junior shortstop Ethan Yeager  hit a two-run single down the leftfield line to give Westminster a 5-0 lead in the third inning.

Junior starting pitcher Vince Iosue improved to 3-3 by tossing seven innings and giving up two runs (1 earned) off four hits and two walks to go with four strikeouts.

Freshman reliever Ron Sullivan earned his first career save by pitching two shutout innings with four hits.

Westminster and Grove City still need to play a postponed doubleheader before next weekend's PAC tournament. That doubleheader could be postponed if it doesn't affect seeding in the tournament as both teams are already qualified. The pairings will be announced this week.
