Four Western New England players named to All-NEIBA Division III Team

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Four Western New England players made the All-New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association Team that was released Tuesday (May 18).

In addition, Matt LaBranche was named the NEIBA Division III Coach-of-the-Year.

Senior designated hitter Ryan Dudzinski (Bristol, CT) and senior starting pitcher Matt Rogers (Portsmouth, RI) were First-Team selections.

Sophomore second baseman Mike Rubino (Northford, CT) was a Second Team honoree while junior relief pitcher Mike Lawlor (Windsor, CT) earned a spot on the Third-Team.

LaBranche led the Golden Bears to a school record 38-9 season heading into the NCAA Division III New England Regional Championship. He also was voted The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) Co-Coach-of-the-Year. LaBranche won his 350th all-time game against Wentworth in the conference tournament and has a 353-159 record (68.9%) in 12 seasons.

Dudzinski was TCCC Player-of-the-Year after batting .449 in conference play and .353 overall with 18 stolen bases in 20 attempts.

Rogers leads the pitching staff with a 10-1 record and 3.62 earned-run-average in 82 innings. He has 29 career victories, which is one shy of the school record. Rubino leads the Golden Bears in hitting (.423), hits (74), and on-base percentage (.490). Lawlor set a school record with eight saves this spring and has a 3-1 record and 1.77 ERA with 47 strikeouts in 35.2 innings.

Dudzinski, Rogers, and Rubino also were All-TCCC First-Team selections.
