CMS starting pitcher Chad Hadzinsky was tossing a no-hitter into the seventh inning when Mike Vinyard's two-out single broke up the bid. He was later caught trying to steal second and the Kingsmen trailed 5-1 at the end of seven.

Hadzinsky experienced both near perfection and destruction following the Cal Lutheran half of the eighth inning. After getting the leadoff man out, the Kingsmen scored five runs on back-to-back hits by Dominick Solley and Nick Boggan.

Solley cut the deficit in half with a two-run single bringing Boggan to the plate as the potential go-ahead run. He belted the full-count offering for a three-run homer giving the Kingsmen their first lead of the game, 6-5.

CMS trailed by one in the bottom of the ninth with two out and the bases loaded. Michael Erb stepped to the plate and provided the game-winning two-run single for a 7-6 win. The victory snaps an eight-game losing streak to Cal Lutheran.

Stags reliever Andor Kesselman earned the win retiring all five batters he faced. Peter Ciaramitaro allowed four runs (two earned) in four-plus innings of work during his first start of the season. Neither he nor Tyler Hebda, who tossed four innings allowed just one run, factored in the decision.

After notching the game-winning hit in the previous game Michael Erb stepped to the mound as the Stags game two starting pitcher. He would be tagged with the loss allowing six runs (four earned) in 4.1 innings of work.

Despite managing only one base hit in each of the first three innings Cal Lutheran took advantage scoring the runner and building a 3-2 lead. In the fifth the Kingsmen broke through with four hits including RBI hits from Dominick Solley, Nick Boggan, and Nick DeLorenzo.

After retiring the side in order in the fourth and following a long CLU rally in the fifth, starting pitcher John LaMoure found trouble. A pair of walks and singles to start off the inning cut the deficit to 6-3 with the bases loaded and no outs.

Enter pitcher Jordan Cox who retired the next three batters in order while stranding the bases loaded. He went on to set down all six hitters he faced including three courtesy of strikeouts to pick up the win in relief.

The game was temporarily halted in the top of the seventh inning due to rainy conditions. Following a short wait the contest was officially called and Cal Lutheran awarded the victory.

The first six members of the Cal Lutheran starting lineup provided all of the team's seven base hits. Leadoff man Iggy Wagner led the team with two hits and scored a pair of runs.

CMS leadoff hitter William Knowles went 3-for-3 with an RBI in the game two loss.

Cal Lutheran (4-1, 2-1 SCIAC) will head to Anthem, Ariz., to take part in the Arizona Desert Classic. The Kingsmen will play four games over four days starting on Thursday, Feb. 16.
