WATERTOWN, Wis. – The Edgewood College baseball team established a season-long three game winning streak with a doubleheader sweep of Maranatha Baptist. The Eagles scored all their runs after the start of the fifth inning in a 13-3 game one victory. In the nightcap, Ryan O'Dell hit two home runs and had seven RBIs in a 14-3 triumph.

Edgewood College (6-10, 3-1 NAC) broke open a scoreless game with four runs in the fifth inning, highlighted by back-to-back run scoring doubles by Eric Curtis and Brandon Bartels. Mike Selvaggi and Ben Jennings added RBI singles in the sixth inning to give the Eagles a 6-1 lead. In the eighth and ninth innings, the Eagles scored seven runs with the benefit of just one hit, a double by Jake Zadra. Three Maranatha (1-9, 0-4 NAC) pitchers combined for 14 walks and six hit batters.

Starting pitcher Tony Ales went the distance for his first career complete game. Ales struck out a career-high eight batters and didn't surrender a walk. Ryan Walker, Alex Jaskulski and Zadra each had two hits for the Eagles. Curtis lead the team with a career-high four runs batted in. Jaskulski extended his streak of reaching base safely to 12 consecutive games.

In the second game, O'Dell had an RBI in each of his five plate appearances. The big blows were a pair of two-run home runs, one in the fourth inning and one in seventh. O'Dell became the sixth different Eagle to hit two home runs in a single game and the first since Tim Barry hit two bombs against UW-Parkside in 2010.

Taylor Hillmann threw six innings to pick up his first win of the season. Hillmann gave up just two runs on seven hits while striking out four batters. Billy DeVault and Casey Geissberger pitched the bottom of the seventh inning to finish the game. Walker and Clark joined O'Dell with three hits in the game, including a double for Walker and Clark's first career triple. Joe Gura went 2-for-3 with a double and two runs batted in.
