RICHARDSON, Texas –– Concordia Texas, Texas Lutheran, Texas-Dallas and Texas-Tyler will each serve as first round hosts of the 2012 American Southwest Conference Baseball Championship Tournament Series, to be held Friday-Saturday (April 27-28), after locking up one of the top two seeds from their respective divisions.

The winners from the four, best-of-three series (also featuring Hardin-Simmons, McMurry, Mississippi College and Louisiana College) will advance to the championship round, a double elimination format to be held May 4-6 at the site of the top remaining West Division seed. The ASC champion will earn the league's automatic berth into the NCAA Division III Baseball Championship.

Live video with audio and statistics will be available for all first round games. Links for tournament coverage are on the ASC website, www.ASCsports.org, and the athletics websites of the host institutions.

First round series will be West Division champion Concordia Texas (31-8, 17-4 ASC) vs. East No. 4 seed Louisiana College (14-22, 7-11 ASC) at Tornado Field in Austin, Texas; West No. 2 seed Texas Lutheran (26-12, 16-5 ASC) vs. East No. 3 seed Mississippi College (18-21, 9-9 ASC) at Katt-Isbell Field in Seguin, Texas; East Division co-champion and No. 1 seed Texas-Dallas (27-13, 14-4 ASC) vs. West No. 4 seed McMurry (19-21, 12-9) at UTD Baseball Field in Richardson, Texas; and East Division co-champion and No. 2 seed Texas-Tyler (31-9, 14-4 ASC) vs. West No. 3 seed Hardin-Simmons (19-18, 12-9 ASC) at Irwin Field in Tyler, Texas.

Game 1 for all series will be on Friday (McM at UTD, MC at TLU at 2 p.m.; HSU at UT Tyler, LC at CTX at 6 p.m.). Game 2 and any if necessary Game 3s will be Saturday (McM at UTD, MC at TLU beginning at 11 a.m.; HSU at UT Tyler, LC at CTX at 2 p.m.). All tournament games are nine innings.

Concordia Texas enters as the defending ASC champion after prevailing 6-4 over Texas-Dallas in last year's title game.

NOTES: This is the 16th year of the ASC baseball tournament. . . . The West Division has produced the ASC champion 12 times. The only East teams to prevail were Mississippi College in 2003 and Texas-Tyler in 2009-10. . . . McMurry has won the most ASC titles with four. . . . MC has the most ASC tournament appearances with 13 – including a record-12 straight – followed by McMurry (12) and Hardin-Simmons (11). . . . The hosting rights for the Championship Round rotate each year between each division's top remaining seed. . . . CTX and UT Tyler enter nationally-ranked by both national polls. Texas-Dallas is receiving votes. . . Admission prices will be the same for every site: $5 for adults and $3 for students. No complimentary passes will be issued.
