Louisiana College falls to rival Centenary 9-7

The Louisiana College Wildcats let another late inning lead slip through their grasp, falling 9-7 to Centenary College in McKinney, Tx. to fall to 2-3 on the season.
 
The Wildcats held a 7-4 lead going into the bottom of the eighth inning before watching that lead disappear once again.
 
The Centenary College Gent's exploded in the bottom of the eighth with a triple by right fielder Tyler Clakley off of Wildcats' reliever Jacob Trahan.  Left fielder Christian Sebastian followed that up with an RBI single, where he scored Clakley to cut the Wildcats lead to 7-5.
 
After another single by designated hitter Jemari James, 2B Ben Schweinfurth hit a double to score Sebastian and James to tie the game up at 7-7.
 
Center fielder Nic Parrot then got on after an error by Matt Scott, which scored Schweinfurth and allowed Parrott to reach second base to give the Gentlemen an 8-7 lead. 
 
After a Parrott steal of third, short stop Matt Creamer hit a single that scored Parrot to give the Gentlemen a 9-7 lead and the win.
 
The Gentlemen started quick and early where they scored one run in the first inning, two in the second inning and one more in the third inning to give Centenary a 4-0 lead.
 
The Wildcats did fight back, as LC came out hot in the sixth inning, scoring six runs off of six hits. Left fielder Mark Riendeau, catcher Kyle Feazell, designated hitter Jake Hillman and first bnaseman Matt Scott all had singles and an RBI each.
 
Riendeau led the Wildcats offensively, going 3-4 and one RBI.
 
Jacob Trahan took the loss (0-1) for the Wildcats, while Centenary  reliever Grady Flournoy (1-0) earned the win.
 
With the comeback Centenary recorded their first win to improve to 1-1.
