A gutsy complete-game, four-hit outing from Louisiana College junior right-hander Madison Lachney was enough to propel the Wildcats to a 3-1 victory over ASC foe LeTourneau on Friday night in Longview, TX.

The junior pitcher from Iowa, LA tossed nine innings, striking out eight Yellow Jacket batters and giving up only one run to earn the win, moving him to 3-0 on the season.

The Wildcats got on the board in the third inning when sophomore right fielderKade Van Norman hit a sharp single up the middle to score Cole Bagbey, making it 1-0.

Van Norman would drive in two more runs in the fourth inning when a bloop single found just enough open grass in center field to score Nic Cole and Matt Scott.

Van Norman finished the game 2-for-5 at the plate with all three Wildcat RBI. Sophomore left fielder Mark Riendeau continued his recent hot stretch with a 3-for-4 night at the plate.

LC moved to 7-6 on the year with the victory, 1-0 in ASC play. The Wildcats will take on the Yellow Jackets again Saturday with a doubleheader beginning at 12 p.m. Senior right hander Seth Webster (2-1, 2.28 ERA) will be on the mound for the Wildcats in game one. Josh Lang (1-2, 2.95 ERA) will start game two.
