JERSEY CITY, NJ (NJCUGothicKnights.com) | New Jersey City University committed four errors in the first three innings of the game and Richard Stockton College took advantage, jumping out to a 4-0 lead before it defeated NJCU, 7-3, in a sloppy defensive New Jersey Athletic Conference baseball contest played on April 15 at the Thomas M. Gerrity Athletic Complex.

Stockton (17-13, 5-5 NJAC) evens its NJAC record at 5-5 while NJCU falls to .500 on the year (14-14, 3-7 NJAC). Stockton moved into a three-way tie with Rowan University and The College of New Jersey with 10 points with the win in a make-up game of a rainout from Friday, April 12. Both schools committed five errors in the game.

Stockton junior right-hander Brendan Stout (Sicklerville, NJ/Timber Creek) moved into a tie for most victories in the league, improving to 5-2. In 7.0 innings, he allowed one earned run (two total) and eight hits, with one walk (no strikeouts) over 111 pitches. Junior righty Brandon Trainor (Manahawkin, NJ/Southern Regional) allowed one unearned run and one hit in the final two innings, also with one walk and no strikeouts.

Remarkably in defeat, no Gothic Knight batters struck out for the first time since April  19, 2002 at John Jay College (10-8 win)—a span of 407 games.
