Freshman Pitcher Shines As Fisher Downs Trine

Freshman starting pitcher Marc Iseneker tossed five no-hit innings and struck out eight batters in his collegiate debut, as the St. John Fisher College baseball program cruised past Trine University 11-3 on Monday morning in Winter Haven at the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational.

With the win, Fisher improves to 3-1 on the year.   Through the first four games of the season, Fisher's starting pitchers have combined for 19 inning of action, allowing no runs, three hits and 27 strikeouts.

The Cardinals broke the game open during the middle frames, scoring four in the fourth and five in the fifth. Fisher added two more runs in the ninth.

Chris Roeder, Nick Flemister, Malcolm Kelsey and Mike Roman each finished the day with two hits.  Roeder scored three runs, while Flemister and Kelsey both scored twice.  All three players each drove in a run as well.

Roman led the Cardinals with three RBI, giving the reigning Empire 8 Player of the Week and team-high seven on the year.

Brad Rush was 1-for-2 with two runs scored and an RBI, while Mike Fahy singled and scored.
Calvin Woolhiser picked up his first career hit in the game as well.

Pitchers Ryan Trauger, Corey Upright, Erin Moskal and Dominick Pisciotto all pitched one inning in relief and combined for five strikeouts.

Fisher returns to action at 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday against Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
