WINTER HAVEN, Fla. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology junior Andrew Stull allowed just one single over eight innings, and the Fightin' Engineers offense scored early in a 6-1 victory over the University of Mount Union on Sunday afternoon.

Stull allowed just one single, in the seventh inning, to shutout the Purple Raiders for eight frames.  The right-hander added eight strikeouts and walked just one batter to move to 1-0 on the season.

Offensively, Rose-Hulman scored four times in the fifth inning and twice in the second to gain a safe lead.  Seven different players had one hit each for the Engineers, with senior Josh Hoeing and junior Caleb Kissel leading the effort with a double each.

Hoeing slapped a two-RBI double after Josh Koutnik slapped a two-run single in the four-run fifth inning that proved the game's key offensive frame.

Rose-Hulman is ranked No. 19 nationally by Perfect Game and receiving votes from both the American Baseball Coaches Association and D3baseball.com in the most recent weekly poll.  The Fightin' Engineers reached the championship round of the NCAA Central Regional last season.

Rose-Hulman returns to action on Monday at 10:30 a.m. with a matchup against in-state Indiana foe Trine University.
