The Baruch College Bearcats took both ends of a CUNYAC doubleheader from John Jay College of Criminal Justice on Friday afternoon at MCU Park in Coney Island.

The two wins (13-4, 2-1) help the Bearcats improve to 8-12 overall and 3-1 in the CUNYAC. They also stretch their win streak to three games and have now won four of their last five to head into spring break week on a positive note.

The Bearcats won the high-scoring opener, 13-4, as
Jasdeep Buttar(3-5, 2 RBI, 3 runs) and Angel Tejeda(3-4, 3 RBI, 2 runs) each had a big game at the plate.

The Bearcats led 2-1 early, but broke open the contest with three runs in the third inning on a two-run triple by Tejeda and an RBI single by
Nicholas LaForgiato jump ahead 5-1.

Zachary T. Uherhit his second homer of the season, and the team's eighth, in the fifth for a 6-1 lead. They added three more runs as the team batted around in the inning.

Tejada and LaForgia each hit RBI singles in the seventh inning to cap off the 13-4 score line.

Paul Perezearned the win by going the distance for the complete game (7IP, 4R, 3ER, 0BB, 6K). The win is his 20th career win at Baruch, which while subject to research confirmation, is likely the all-time mark in Baruch baseball history.

In the second game,
Cameron Kitt, named the CUNYAC Pitcher of the Week this past Monday, put together another gem with 13 strikeouts in a complete game performance (7IP, 5H, 1R, 1ER, 1BB, 13K) to shut down the Bloodhounds.

The Bearcats scored their two runs in their first at-bat and held on to the 2-1 win.

Tejada was in the middle of the action again with a two run RBI triple to right center to score
Eric Ulinoand Matthew Ballone. That stood as the game-winning hit.

The Bearcats will enjoy the holiday weekend off and will return to action on Monday, April 6, with a 3:00 pm newly scheduled single game at SUNY-Old Westbury on Long Island.
