Nick Nalbach went 6-for-8 on the day to lead UW-Stout to a 6-2, 16-4 non-conference baseball sweep of No. 10-ranked St. Thomas Saturday in St. Paul. The Blue Devils (12-7) roughed up eight UST pitchers for 22 runs on 25 hits and capitalized on six walks and six hit batters.

The Tommies (15-7) hosted the game as a late switch due to standing water at the Stout home field. UST, which stranded 17 baserunners on the day, was swept on its home diamond for the first time in eight seasons.

The Tommies' Ryan Gerber went 4-for-6 and reached five times on the day. Anthony Winters and Ben Waltz each had solo home runs.

St. Thomas has two other home doubleheaders scheduled this week: Sunday against St. Scholastica (1 p.m.) and Wednesday vs. St. John's.
