La Plume, PA – Kevin Luciano (Everett, MA/Cambridge Rindge and Latin School) extended his hitting streak to 26 games in dramatic fashion on Monday afternoon with a 10th inning, walk-off single to give Keystone College a 4-3 victory over visiting Montclair State University in a non-conference baseball contest on at Christy Mathewson Field.  The Giants improve to 16-10 on the season while the Red Hawks fall to 10-14.

Keystone took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning on Monday on a two-out single up the middle by Cody Darley (Port St. Lucie, FL/Treasure Coast) that scored Eduardo Familia (Bronx, NY/Collegio Utesianode Estudios Integrados) from second with the game's first run, but Montclair State got the run back in the top of the third Philip Scott scored on a Ryan Long groundout.

The Red Hawks went in front, 2-1, on a two-out, RBI single to right-center from Rich Burner in the visitor's fourth, but the Giants went back to the point with a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.  Gaston Rojas (Carmel, NY/Carmel) scored on a squeeze bunt by Chris Bzozowski (Westampton, NJ/Bishop Eustace) before Luciano scored on a Familia double to the gap in left-center.

Montclair State tied the game with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning on an RBI double by Long down the right field line that plated Corey Martin with the tying run.  The Red Hawks put the potential go-ahead run on third base with one out in the top of the 10th inning, but winning pitcher Dan Maguire (Ocean Township, NJ/Ocean Township) got a groundout followed by a strikeout to work out of the jam to set the stage for Luciano's heroics.

Dylan Corl (Morrisdale, PA/West Branch ) walked to lead off the Keystone 10th and advanced to third on a Rojas base hit.  Montclair State intentionally walked Nate Ross (Albuquerque, NM/La Cueva) to load the bases with nobody out and Luciano stepped up and ripped a deep fly ball over the heads of the drawn in outfielders to allow Corl to trot home with the winning run.

Keystone starting pitcher Jesse Arnold (Port St. Lucie, FL/Treasure Coast) took a no-decision after seven strong innings in which he surrendered a pair of runs on eight hits to go along with four strikeouts.  Josh Zilla (Dunmore, PA/Dunmore) walked the only batter he faced before turning the ball over to Rob DePhillips (Egg Harbor Township, NJ/Egg Harbor Township), who retired the only two batters he faced in the eighth inning including one K. Jake Granteed (West Pittston, PA/Wyoming Area) came on to record the final out of the eighth inning before Steve Aniska (Scranton, PA/West Scranton) allowed one run on two hits while fanning one batter in the ninth inning while Maguire (1-2) picked up his first win of the season with one hit against and one strikeout in the top of the 10th inning.

Rojas led Keystone's offense with three hits while Familia connected for a pair of hits for the Giants.

Montclair starter Anthony DeBlasio took a no-decision as well after yielding three runs on five hits and two strikeouts in six innings on the hill. Anthony Altieri pitched two scoreless innings with one K while Austin Minton (2-2) was charged with the loss after giving up the game-winning run on two hits and two walks while picking up one strikeout in one complete inning of work.

Scott paced Montclair State's offense with three hits while Long and Kevin Alonso had two hits apiece for the Red Hawks, who held an 11-9 edge in hits for the game.

Keystone will be right back in action on Tuesday with a non-conference game against Moravian College in La Plume.  The first pitch against the Greyhounds is scheduled to be thrown at 4:00 p.m. at Christy Mathewson Field.
