Baruch Stretches Win Streak to Four, Defeat Olivet of Michigan (3-2)

The baseball team received solid pitching to defeat Olivet College, 3-2, in a contest played on Friday morning in Fort Myers, Florida.

Jasdeep Buttarstarted the scoring in the third inning with a ground rule double that scored Michael McGroarty. Donovan Huntfollowed with a sacrifice fly RBI to plate Matthew Ballonefor the early 2-0 lead.

Olivet cut the score to 2-1 in the fifth inning, but the Bearcats added their third run in the sixth inning as Hunt scored on a wild pitch.

Olivet would keep things interesting late by scoring their second run in the seventh, but scoreless relief by
Bogdan Leyton(1IP, 1H) and Ryan Smith(1IP, 1K, Save) sealed the team's fourth straight win.

Ryan Warnerearned his second win by going seven innings, allowing four hits, two runs (both earned) with one walk and five strikeouts for a solid outing.

The Bearcats totaled only three hits but it was enough for the win.

The Bearcats will return to action Saturday morning with a single 9 a.m. contest against the Coast Guard Academy.
