AUBURNDALE, Fla. - The Benedictine University baseball team opened the spring trip to Florida with a shutout of Ripon College.

THE DETAILS
• Joe Palasiewicz threw a complete game in his second start of the season, improving to 2-0
• Ripon did not record a hit until the seventh inning as Palasiewicz surrendered just two hits in the decision
• Benedictine provided all the offense in the fourth inning, scoring four runs
• Brandon Gipson singled and stole second with one away before scoring the first run on a single from Kyle Bock
• D.J. Dillon doubled home a run and Chayancze Stirbis also added a run-scoring single in the inning
• Benedictine added a run in the sixth and two runs in the eighth on a Nick Severino sacrifice fly
STAT LEADERS
• Benedictine slammed 15 hits in the victory
• Stirbis, Tanner Kiser, and Nicholas Quick all logged three hits in the win
• Dom DeMicco added a pair of hits
• 10 of the hits in the game were singles
