The Baruch College Bearcats lost a 9-4 non-conference contest to the Bears from St. Joseph's College of Brooklyn on Thursday afternoon in Bellerose, New York.

The visiting Bearcats started with a solo homer by
Jasdeep Buttarin the first inning.

The Bears took control back with five runs on five hits and one error for a 5-1 advantage in the third.

The Bearcats responded with run in the fourth on an RBI single by
Dan Daleyto plate John Paul Cattaroto cut the score to 5-2, but the Bears scored again with a run in each of the fourth and sixth innings to extend their lead to 7-2.

The Bearcats attempted a big rally in the seventh via an RBI walk by
Michael McGroartyand a sacrifice fly RBI by Buttar, but were shut down the rest of the way in the 9-4 defeat.

Buttar finished batting 2-for-3 with a homer and two RBI.
Robert E. McMahonalso had two hits with one run scored. Cattaro added a triple in the fourth inning.

John Condon led the hosts batting 3-for-5 with three RBI.
