KING'S BASEBALL SWEPT BY MISERICORDIA

DALLAS -- The King's baseball team dropped a pair of games at first-place Misericordia University Saturday in Dallas. 

The Cougars won by the first game 16-4 and then the second 10-0. King's now stands at 19-11 and 8-8 in the Freedom Conference while Misericordia improved to 25-9 and 14-4.

In the opener Bruce Breithaupt was 2-for-3 with a double and RBI. Kyle Lupas was 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. Shawn Stone also added an RBI while Tom Gibbons scored a run.

Monarch starting pitcher Nick Deno was victimized by a number of errors and surrendered 10 runs, nine which were unearned.

In the nightcap, the Monarchs managed just two hits in the game. Ryan Hydock had a double while Chris Rebar added a single. Dan Hartsen took the pitching loss, allowing 10 runs, four which were unearned.

King's returns to the field Sunday with a doubleheader at Delaware Valley at 1:00 p.m. in Doylestown.
