Baseball Beats Regionally-Ranked Arcadia In Tune-Up Before Playoffs

More news about: Swarthmore

AMBLER, Pa.--Swarthmore College Baseball beat Arcadia 9-2 on Thursday, about one week before the start of the NCAA Division III Baseball Regional Tournaments begin.

Swarthmore is now 33-9 this season and has outdone the previous program record set in 1985 by six wins.

The top-seeded Garnet won their first Centennial Conference Tournament title in team history on Sunday.

On Thursday, the Garnet and Knights were scoreless through the first five inning until junior Charles Levitt broke the tie with his ninth home run of the season in the sixth . The two-run blast was Levitt's first homer in 13 games, but he's now ahead of junior teammate Jackson Roberts for the team lead. Both players have beaten the Swarthmore single-season record of six set in 1951 and tied in 2010.
