Buena Vista's Evan Taylor Named A-R-C Position Player of the Week

Buena Vista sophomore Evan Taylor earned weekly honors by the American Rivers Conference by being named the league's baseball Position Player of the Week for the period ending March 26.

During Friday afternoon's at the University of Dubuque to begin conference play, Taylor finished the day going 5-for-9 with three extra base hits, three RBI and five runs scored. He also went 2-for-2 in stolen base opportunities.  In game one, he posted a season-high three hits, including a pair of triples, while driving in two and scoring twice as BVU picked up an 11-5 victory.  In the nightcap, Taylor added two more hits, including a double, and also scored a season-best three runs.

This marks the first such recognition of the year and the second time in the career for the reigning A-R-C Position Player of the Year and the third weekly conference honor for the team overall.

Buena Vista is currently 11-4 on the year (2-0 A-R-C) and is set to return to the diamond on Tuesday, March 28, when the team plays at Nebraska Wesleyan University in a doubleheader starting at 12 p.m.
