Castillo of BW Baseball Earns D3baseball.com All-America Honors

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Senior first baseman Alexis Castillo (Sunrise, Fla./The Sagemont School) earned the first All-America honors after being selected to the D3baseball.com fourth team as a designated hitter.

Castillo earns the award after hitting .388 with a .464 on-base percentage and a .588 slugging percentage in the regular season and OAC Tournament. He totaled 66 hits with 13 doubles and seven home runs. Castillodrove in 42 runs batted in (RBIs) and came around to score 36 runs. He also went 50% on stolen base chances going 2-for-4.  

During five NCAA Tournament games, Castillo is hitting .500 with a .522 on-base percentage and a .850 slugging percentage. He has tallied ten hits including four doubles and a home run. His is leading the team in the NCAA Tournament with 14 RBIs and he has also scored six runs.

For his career, Castillo is a .393 hitter with a .455 on-base percentage and a .596 slugging percentage. He has totaled 140 hits, 30 doubles, 14 home runs, 80 runs scored and 102 RBIs. He is a two-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference selection, a D3baseball.com All-Region 7 second team selection and an American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings All-Region 7 first team selection.

BW returns to the diamond on Friday, June 2nd to take on Endicott (Mass.) College in the first round of the NCAA Division III College World Series on the Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Cedar Rapids, Iowa at 2:15 p.m.
