REDLANDS, Calif. – The University of Redlands baseball team (20-19, 11-12) won both games of the doubleheader with Occidental College as they honored seniors Jared Anderson, Tyler Reiter, Julian Zuniga, Ryan Rhoades, Will Daniels, and Patrick Perez prior to the games.

Game 1 (Redlands 11 – Occidental 1 – 8 Innings)

The Bulldogs led from the third inning on. Their first run came on a fielder's choice error that allowed Luke De Vries to score. Sebastian Mejorado then doubled home Anderson. The third run of the inning came from Daniels who singled to right.

Tyler Preece then homered to left on the first pitch of the fifth inning.

Starting pitcher Reiter had a no-hitter through 6.1 innings, but the Tigers would break up the no-hitter and shutout with a solo home run.

Redlands got four runs in the bottom half of the seventh when Will Cell doubled home Jake Burgess and Gabriel Ceja. Anderson also picked up a pair of RBI as Cell and Kaiya Saito both scored.

In the eighth they ended the game early with  two runs to secure the run-rule victory. De Vries doubled home Burgess and Anderson singled home Cell for the game-ending run.

At the top of the order De Vries and Anderson combined to go 7-for-11 with two runs and five RBI. Cell had two hits, two runs, and two RBI.

Reiter finished his last appearance as a Bulldog with eight one-run innings, eight strikeouts, and secured his seventh victory of the season.

Game 2 (Redlands 5 – Occidental 4 – 10 Innings)

After an offensive first game, it was a better pitched second. Redlands held a 3-1 lead after seven innings thanks to an RBI in the first from Anderson, a Nathan Miller sacrifice fly in the fourth, and an fielding error at first in the fifth that made it 3-0.

With only two runs scored in 16 innings, Occidental brought home three runs in the top of the eighth as they held their first lead, 4-3.

In the next half inning Mason Chetcuti hit into a fielder's choice that tied the game at four.

After neither team was able to win it in the ninth, De Vries had the walk-off hit in the 10th with two outs as Patrick Perez, who doubled with no one on, and two outs, scored.

De Vries continued his hot hitting with three more base hits. On the mound Rhoades started and threw 2.1 scoreless innings. Nathan Buchan then followed with three innings with only one unearned run. After Jakob Russel struck out four across 2.1, Perez moved from designated hitter to pitcher and despite not securing the save, he got the win after throwing 2.1 innings.
