Mustangs Drop Series Opener Against Wilson Phoenix

BALTIMORE, Md. – Stevenson baseball (3-4) took on the Wilson College Phoenix (4-0) at Calvert Hall College High School in Baltimore, Md. under the lights on Friday evening. The final score was 6-1 in favor of the Phoenix.
 
The Phoenix homered to get on the board first in the top of the third. In the bottom of the fourth, senior first baseman Nick Tamberino managed the first base hit for the Mustangs, singling. The lone run for the Mustangs arrived in the sixth inning when junior infield Brady Bedway found home plate on a single from first-year outfield Christopher Manco.
 
The Mustangs totaled six hits and four walks with six left on base. Manco received an RBI for Bedway's trip back home. On pitching, despite the loss, first-year Jake Treasure totaled four strikeouts on four runs and eight hits.
 
The Mustangs continue their series against the Wilson College Phoenix in a nine-and-seven inning doubleheader beginning Sunday, March 10 at 12 p.m. at Henninger Field.
