Despite two record-tying performances, Muhlenberg lost at Messiah, 12-7, in a game called in the top of the ninth due to rain and lightning. Senior Jimmy Cody tied a school record by homering for the third game in a row, and senior Nick Kennedy tied a record of a different sort by getting hit by pitch for the 31st time in his career. Both happened in a five-run second that gave the Mules a 6-0 lead, but the Falcons came back with eight runs in the next two innings.

Lynchburg had six extra base hits to defeat Southern Virginia 14-1 in non-conference action. The Hornets ran away with the contest early, posting five runs in the first frame. Gerald Taylor pitched the best game of his career for Lynchburg, throwing a personal-best seven innings, four of which were three up, three down. He allowed one earned run on just five hits while striking out two and not issuing a walk.

Two of the most prestigious schools clashed in sunny Southern California as the Caltech hosted MIT. The Beavers outhit the Engineers through the first seven innings but MIT took advantage of 14 walks and four errors to claim the victory, 23-7. 

No. 3 UW-Whitewater got off to a hot start at the plate and didn't look back in an 11-3 victory over Keuka in a non-conference affair at Lake Myrtle Park.  The Warhawks concluded their eight-day, nine-game spring break trip with another solid all-around performance. UW-Whitewater recorded 14 hits offensively, and seven different pitchers combined to hold the Storm to just three runs despite 12 hits. The Warhawks' staff stranded 11 base runners and struck out 10 batters.

William Paterson ran its win streak to four with a 6-3, come-from-behind victory against Farmingdale State. Rob Eggert was 2-for-2 with an RBI and a pair of runs scored, while Anthony Hoagland finished 2-for-3 and crossed the plate once. Freshman starter Corey Martinez picked up his first collegiate win (1-0), allowing four hits and two runs, one earned during his 7.0 innings.

Andy Brahier had four hits, four runs and five runs batted in to lead UW-Oshkosh to a 13-5 victory over Kalamazoo in Winter Haven, Fla. Brahier, who doubled twice and homered against Kalamazoo, has reached base in nine of his last 10 plate appearances. The Titans concluded their Florida trip with a 7-0 record and have won 33 of their last 37 games in the Sunshine State.

Baruch defeated the Scarlet Raiders of Rutgers-Newark, 5-4, in a non-conference game on a wet and drizzly afternoon in Newark, New Jersey. The game marked the third straight time that the Bearcats played in a minor league stadium during the past week. The game today place at Newark Bears Stadium, while earlier in the week they played Old Westbury at home at MCU Park on Coney Island and Mount Saint Mary on Sunday at Dutchess Stadium in Fishkill, New York.

Starter Jake Chipka and two relievers combined on a six-hit shutout to help the Hope salvage a split with visiting Calvin. Chipka scattered four hits over five innings and struck out four in a 9-0 win. In game one, Nate Schepers allowed two hits in 7-0 complete game win for the Knights.

Lewis & Clark ended its trip to Arizona on a high note, sweeping the Oberlin Yeomen. The Pioneers picked up a 7-5 win in the opening contest, before winning the 12-6.

Roanoke blanked Greensboro14-0 in a rain-shortened game that ended in the bottom of the eighth inning. The Maroons are currently on a five game win streak, dating back to March 21^st. The Maroons have won three of those games by scoring 10 or more runs, including a high of 21 against Johnson University on the 21^st. Roanoke has outscored their opponents by a mark of 57-12 over that span.

Barely into his collegiate baseball career, Sam Galanek has already etched his name into the Grinnell College record book. Galanek blasted three home runs to tie a school record during Thursday afternoon's 9-1 over Simpson at Pioneer Park. It marked the second time in as many days the Pioneers beat a team from the Iowa Conference. Galanek joined two other Pioneers in the three-homer club, Jimmy Bombulie in 2001 and Mike Nodzenski in 2009 and again in 2011. Graham Fisher complemented Galanek's performance with four-hit pitching over seven innings. He fanned six batters while earning his first win of the year.

Junior Bryan Miltenberger hit a solo homer in the top of the ninth to snap a 9-9 tie and the Yellow Jacket defense turned a double play with the bases loaded in the bottom of the frame as seventh-ranked Randolph-Macon pulled out a 10-9 win at York. Miltenberger was a defensive replacement at first base for the Yellow Jackets in the bottom of the eighth and had his first at-bat of the game in the ninth. It was his first home run of the season.

Gettysburg rallied from a 4-0 first-inning deficit to beat Mount Aloysius 8-5 in a non-conference tilt at a windy and warm Kirchhoff Field.  The Bullets swept their three-game homestand and have now won five in a row, including four wins over the last four days. Sophomore Connor Tom turned in another big performance at the plate for Gettysburg, finishing 3-for-5 with three RBIs one day after going 3-for-4 with a double and a home run in a win over Penn State-York.
