Rochester used a balanced effort offensively and was solid on the mound to defeat St. John Fisher 11-1 in non-league action on Wednesday evening at Towers Field. The Yellowjackets top four in the batting order went a combined 8-17 at the plate with 10 runs scored and 7 RBI. Leading the quartet was Nolan Schultz. Schultz finished just a single shy of the cycle, going 3-5 with a double, triple and home run, adding 4 RBI and 3 runs scored.

Backed by the middle of its batting order and extended opportunities in the fourth inning the John Carroll pushed its program-best win streak to 13. John Carroll topped host Allegheny 8-2 in Meadville, Pa. JCU's four through six hitters combined for seven hits, five runs and four RBIs on the day. The Blue Steak will look to extend their strek this weekend against No. 23 Ohio Northern, a 17-9 winner over Mt. St. Joseph.

No. 1 Salisbury used a balanced effort from its offense to take down CAC opponent Wesley, 7-3, and remain the only undefeated team in D-III. The Wolverines got on the board first in the contest, taking an early 3-0 lead, but the Salisbury defense and pitching would not allow another Wesley run the rest of the game as the offense finally got on track.

No. 2 Cortland State scored five runs in the bottom of the fourth to increase its lead to 7-1 and the Red Dragons held on late for an 8-6 win over SUNY-Poly at Hoy Field on the campus of Cornell. Freshman Justin Teague went 1-for-2 with two RBI and a run for Cortland. Junior Fabio Ricci went 2-for-3 with two doubles, a walk and three runs.

Junior Brady Johnson had six hits and seven runs on the day to lead No. 8-ranked St. Thomas in MIAC road action at Macalester. UST won game one, 10-5, and leads game two 21-8 through 5 1-2 innings in a game suspended by lightning. The final 3 1-2 innings will be played Thursday at 5:30 p.m. on the Scots' field. It was a hitters' day at the park with wind gusts of 30-plus mph blowing out from home plate. With 31 hits on the day, the Tommies saw their team batting average rise 20 points on the day.

Bridgewater (Va.) combined for 19 runs in Wednesday's ODAC doubleheader to defeat Lynchburg 8-7 in game one before pulling out an 11-8 victory in the nightcap. The Eagles denied Lynchburg's Brandon Miller a chance to become the all-time Lynchburg wins leader in game one erasing a one run lead after Miller handed the ball to the bullpen.

In a showdown between two nationally-ranked baseball teams, 19th-ranked Trinity (Texas) earned an 11-3 win over #18 Concordia (Texas). Trinity led most of the way, using a six-run seventh inning to break the game wide open. The Tigers have now scored 10 or more runs in five of the last six contests, going 4-2 during that stretch.

Senior Eric Hungerford and junior Luke Lawrence combined on a six-hitter and Gettysburg survived a pair of late rallies to register a 3-2, 13-inning victory at Franklin & Marshall in its CC opener. The Bullets led 2-0 heading into the bottom of the ninth before the Diplomats forced extra innings. After the Bullets scored in the top of the 13th, F&M loaded the bases in the bottom of the frame but Lawrence escaped with a groundout to end the game.

Johns Hopkins and Dickinson played to an 8-8 tie in a 12-inning classic that featured a combined 16 runs and 35 hits. Both team had chances in the extra frames to end the game but neither were unable to cash in. The tie is the first for each team this season.

Eastern Mennonite broke open a pitchers' duel in the seventh inning, and starter Ryan Henschel kept on rolling as the baseball men picked up a 3-0 win against Washington and Lee in Harrisonburg.  It was one of the men's best pitching performances in years, as Henschel and reliever Aaron Hooven combined for a five-hit shutout, the first blanking thrown by Eastern Mennonite since 2009.

Led by a solid pitching performance from freshman Anthony LoFaro, Manhattanville utilized a seven-run seventh inning to pull away from Old Westbury, beating the Panthers by a final score of 9-5 in non-conference play.  LoFaro tossed 6.2 innings for Manhattanville, allowing three runs with only one earned, giving up five hits while striking out three Old Westbury batters.

No. 12 Frostburg State won its eighth-straight game with a 5-1 CAC victory over Southern Virginia. Nick Walker broke a tie with one swing of the bat in the bottom of the sixth as he took a 1-0 pitch over the left field fence with senior Zach Weiss on first to give FSU a 3-1 lead. From that point the offense tacked on a couple more runs and the bullpen kept the Knights from crossing home plate.

Mitchell picked up a pair of 2-1 victories over Nichols in non-conference action at Alumni Field. Despite an 18-day layoff since their last game in Florida, the Mariners got back on the winning track behind timely hitting and strong pitching. The Bison outhit Mitchell 12-10 on the day but left a total of 16 runners on base in the doubleheader.

Illinois Tech quieted the Lakeland bats, keeping the Muskies to just one run over two games in a doubleheader played on Wednesday. The Muskies were defeated 1-0 in the first game of the twinbill and fell 13-1 in the second game of the non-conference matchup. Lakeland was  outhit 20-10 on the day.

Salem State defeated Gordon 10-3 at the Central Campus Baseball Field. Jason Vizena earned the win in relief, pitching three innings while allowing just a run on three hits with two strikeouts. The Vikings will welome Southern Maine in the next game on Thursday.

Sophomore Cameron Coons went 5-for-5 at the plate and tied the single game runs record with six leading Alvernia to a 25-8 win over Gwynedd-Mercy at Angelica Park. Coons matched the school record of six runs held by Alvernia Hall of Famer Todd Meyer who drove scored six and drove in a school-record 12 runs while hitting the home run cycle in a win over Wilmington.

Juniors Nick Maiolo and Michael Trentham each had three RBI as No. 10 Randolph-Macon defeated Catholic 10-3. The Yellow Jackets scored four in each of the first two innings to take control over the Cardinals.

New York University picked up its first home victory since 1973, defeating John Jay 7-2 at MCU Park in Brooklyn, NY. Varsity baseball returned to NYU this season after a 41-year hiatus. The Violets' last home win came on May 6, 1973. The Violets took their first lead of the game in the bottom of the first and never trailed at any point in the contest.

Wooster pounded out a season-high 23 hits, including five doubles and four home runs, and scored in every inning but one, as the No. 25 Fighting Scots routed long-time Mideast Regional rival Marietta by a final count of 19-8 at Art Murray Field. It marked Wooster's second-largest margin of victory against Marietta in the teams' all-time series, as they typically play very close games while battling for regional supremacy.

Rutgers-Newark picked up its second-straight come-from-behind win, downing visiting Mt. Saint Mary, 7-5, at Bears & Eagles Riverfront Stadium.  After falling behind 5-0 following the top-half of the fourth inning, the Scarlet Raiders scored the game's final seven runs to earn their second comeback win in as many outings.

No. 6 Heidelberg finally faced a deficit they were unable to dig out of, falling in a non-conference contest to Ohio Wesleyan. The Student Princes had to rally from an early hole to take a one-run lead in the 5th, but the Battling Bishops then piled on in the sixth to pull away. The 22-7 defeat ended the Berg's winning streak at eight, while OWU won their 9th straight game for their twelfth win.

Senior first baseman Alex Weinstein was 3-for-4 with three runs, two RBIs and two doubles while sophomore second baseman Nick Ruscingno got the bat going with three RBIs and 23 players contributed to another win as New Jersey City did all of its damage in the first five innings in a 14-6 triumph over Drew. NJCU won for back-to-back days for the first time since March 11.
