Berry upended No. 3 Emory 5-3 on Tuesday to stay a perfect 7-0 on the season. The Vikings took the lead on a Jacob Delk home run in the top of the second inning and kept it by limiting the Eagle's comeback attempts in the third and seventh innings. The Eagles dropped to 3-2.

Every starter scored for the Huntingdon Hawks as they took a seven inning contest 25-0 from Belhaven. Huntingdon did all this damage with only ten hits but was helped by the Belhaven pitching staff with 13 free passes and 6 hit batters. The tone of the game was set early with a 19 run first inning that featured 13 runners reaching on walks (6), HBP (5) or on fielding errors (2). This is the most runs scored in the 2016 D-III season, surpassing a 23 run game for Pacific Lutheran on February 13th.

Mary Hardin-Bayor battled back from a 3-0 first inning deficit with a fourth-run eighth as the Cru topped Trinity (Texas) 7-4 in Belton. Chase Burrow drove in four runs for UMHB. Connor Moore had two of Trinity's nine hits in the game.

After jumping out to a 9-1 lead, the Ozark Eagles held off Hendrix to earn a 9-8 win in non-conference play. Sophomore left-hander Jordan Allred received the win after allowing just one hit as the starter. Allred went four and one-third innings and left the game with a 9-1 lead. Hendrix chipped away at the lead, scoring three in the fifth and four in the sixth to close the gap to 9-8 but found the equalizer difficult to score. Grady Finley went 4-for-5 with two runs for Ozarks.

Oglethorpe started off their season on a high note at a wet Anderson Field. They stormed to a 5-1 lead over the visiting Covenant Scots over the first four innings, then hung on in the later frames for a 6-5 season-opening victory. The loss is the first of the year for Covenant (5-1), while Oglethorpe (1-0) wins its season opener.

The Kingsmen responded to their Saturday loss with a 14-2 win on Sunday morning against Sul Ross State. CLU jumped out to 5-0 lead behind a big first inning that saw hits from Casciola, Abushahla, Chad Clark, Gabe Gunter and Saito.

In the sixth inning, Abushahla tripled home Casciola to widen the lead and the Kingsmen put together another five run inning in the seventh. CLU capitalized on two early errors to bring in two runs, which was then followed by an RBI double from Saito and an RBI triple from Sinjin Todd. Casciola continued the damage with an RBI single to bring in Todd.

Abushahla led the Kingsmen at the plate with a 4-for-4 day with a walk, two RBIs and a run scored. Casciola and Saito each added three hits, while Casciola also led the way with three runs scored along with Jeff Rebello. Todd and Gunter also finished with multi-hit games.

On the mound, Nate Wehner earned the win after going 5.2 innings and allowing just four hits and two earned runs with one strikeout. Peterson added two strikeouts in 1.1 innings of relief work while Weinstein and Kiyabu also made appearances.
