Two of three marquee games on Saturday never were played as the only contest between Top 25 teams saw Frostburg State and Salisbury split a CAC doubleheader with the Bobcats taking game one 4-3 and falling 8-4 to the Sea Gulls in the second.
New Paltz State defeated SUNYAC foe No. 1 Cortland, 4-3, to clinch its second win in a three-game series in the third day of the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational. This is believed to be the first SUNYAC series that New Paltz has ever won against Cortland and the first SUNYAC series Cortland has lost since losing two of three to SUNY Oswego in 2014.
Back in the SSA conference schedule this weekend, Birmingham-Southern added wins against Sewanee, 10-3 and 7-1, to build a two game lead over second place Rhodes and Millsaps.
Huntingdon made it two wins against No. 21 Piedmont with an 8-5 win oer the Lions. Zack Watson threw a complete-game three-hitter and Huntingdon downed 21st-ranked Piedmont 14-1 on Friday night. On Saturday it was Piedmont miscue that allowed the Hawks to score three runs in the 10th inning and look forward to sweeping the USA South series on Sunday.
Watson (4-2) earned the win, striking out seven, walking four and allowing one run in nine innings. After giving up two singles, two walks and a run in the first inning, Watson held Piedmont hitless in seven of the final eight innings.

No. 18-ranked Texas-Tyler won its ASC series over Texas Dallas after splitting a doubleheader with the Comets at the UTD Baseball Field where the Patriots had opened with an 11-6 win on Friday in the series opener. The Patriots opened the day with an 8-6 loss to the Comets before surviving to take an 11-10 win in the third and final game of the series. Texas-Tyler have still not lost two games in one day all season.
The fourth-ranked Emory swept a doubleheader against Covenant to take the three-game series from the Scots. Ben Vizvary went 3-for-4 at the plate, driving in a pair of runs while Brian Hernandez had two hits in five at bats and also drove in two runs to help the Eagles to a three-run victory in the first game of the twinbill. In the nightcap Jackson Grayson's first career hit proved to be difference in the as the Eagles knocked off the Scots 3-2
No. 8 Shenandoah ran its winning streak to three games by sweeping an ODAC doubleheader from Guilford. Shenandoah was an 8-1 winner in game one before taking game two 8-7 in 10 innings over the Quakers. The Hornets won game two as Jake Loew led off the 10th with a double down the left field line and pinch runner Zach Teeple was sacrificed to third and came home on Nate Loman's groundball to second. Senior Phillip Morse (2-0), who pitched the final 2 2/3 innings, got the win as he stranded a pair of runners in the bottom of the frame.Shenandoah banged out 13 hits in the opener and got a six-hitter from senior Darrell Thompson in coasting to the victory.
