Opening both the home and CCIW schedules, North Central (Ill.) rolled to a 9-1 victory over Elmhurst on Tuesday, scoring in each of the first five innings. Nick Sotiros led the Cardinal offense with a 3-for-5 showing from the dish, driving in three runs while scoring once.  Mike Noesen finished 1-for-2 and drew three of North Central's 10 walks on the afternoon

Washington & Jefferson slugged four home runs on its way to a doubleheader sweep of Westminster, 12-0 in the first game and 5-1 in the second. Nick Viento, Nick Gatins, Frank Fortunato, and Derek Helbing all went yard for the Presidents.

Virginia Wesleyan slugged 18 runs on 14 hits in an 18-3 non-conference victory over Greensboro in a game held at First National Bank Park, home of the Greensboro Grasshoppers, the Class-A affiliate of the Miami Marlins. Brady Fallon went 4-for-6 with three runs scored and four RBI and his first career home run.

St. Scholastica was denied its home opener at Wade Stadium on Sunday due to weather, and took to the road for their first ball game of the season in Minnesota. The Saints defeated Saint Mary's (Minn.) by a score of 10-3. The Saints were led offensively by Steven Neutzling, who put together a 3-for-4 plate performance on the day with a home run, three RBIs, a double, and four runs scored. Also finding the green multiple times in as many at-bats was Zwak (2-for-4, two RBIs) and Drew Colvard (2-for-4).

In the Kalamazoo home opener, the Hornets defeated the visiting Albion Britons 3-1 in game one and 9-3 in the nightcap of their doubleheader. Jacob Gilhaus tossed a strong pitching performance from the mound for Kalamazoo limiting Albion to just their one run in his five innings of work in game one. The reigning MIAA pitcher of the week, he surrendered just four hits and struck out three. Nic Janssen provided six strong innings of work on his way to the game two win. He limited Albion to five hits while striking out two batters.

Junior Carter Amundsen's two-run single in the bottom of the fifth put Augustana ahead and Zach Morgenstern went the distance on the mound Tuesday as the Vikings opened CCIW play with a 5-2 win over Millikin at Swanson Stadium/Brunner Field.

No. 5 Birmingham-Southern upset No. 3 LaGrange 4-1 on Striplin Field. The Panthers scored the eventual game winner in the second inning and held LaGrange scoreless for the last seven innings. The win went to starter Ross James. Jake Cook, Rich Misischia and Preston White all toed the rubber for the Panthers.

Elmira split a non-conference doubleheader against Wells, as the Soaring Eagles rebounded from 3-0 shutout in the early game and cruised to a 16-1 win in the nightcap. Game one featured pitching with each side finishing with three hits while game two saw Elmira explode for 13 hits on their own.

Keuka ended their spring trip to Florida on a high note with a 5-3 victory over Thomas. Rob LaRue  had a career day at the plate for the Green and Gold. The senior went a perfect 4-4 at the plate, a career-best. He also drove in a run, scored a run, and stole a base. Junior Ryan Caroway earned the win on the mound for the Wolves. He went seven strong innings, allowing just four hits and striking out three. Freshman Dave Verrett pitched the final two innings to earn his first collegiate save.

Rockford returned to action today to take on Loras in their home opener at Rivets Stadium. Rockford was aiming to knock off another strong non-conference opponent. The Regents outplayed the Duhawks earning their seventh victory of the season by the final of 6-3.

Oglethorpe found themselves locked in a pitcher's duel of sorts with the visiting Huntingdon Hawks at Anderson Field, but found a way to emerge with a 4-2 victory. The win moved the Stormy Petrels over .500 at 12-11 on the season, and served as their fifth win in their last six contests, as well as their third in a row.

Belhaven earned its fourth straight win by defeating crosstown opponent Tougaloo, 13-3, at Smith-Wills Stadium. Belhaven was on the board out of the gate in the bottom of the first inning and never let up, scoring in every inning until Tougaloo managed to keep the Blazers of the scoreboard in the sixth.
