Millikin opened the 2018 season with a doubleheader sweep at the University of Ozarks in Clarksville, Arkansas. Millikin won game one 6-2 and took the second game 12-0. In game one, Connor Gross picked up the pitching victory for Millikin throwing six innings and a third of the scheduled seven inning game. Gross gave up two earned runs and eight hits while striking out five. In game two, three Millikin pitchers limited the Eagles to just three hits over nine innings. Logan Talkington allowed two hits in five innings while striking out five.
LaGrange stopped a two-game losing streak with a 12-5 win against Belhaven in Smith-Willis Stadium. The Panthers had only seven hits but took advantage of eight walks issued by Blazer pitching in evening their Millsaps Tournament record at 1-1. They take on Berry Sunday who defeated the Panthers 7-1 earlier in the week.
Chapman split a doubleheader with Redlands in its SCIAC home opener this afternoon, taking the first game 5-4 and falling 4-3 in the second. The Panthers rallied from down two in the bottom of the ninth to earn the walk off victory in the first game.
A first-inning grand slam by senior Joey Galeno sparked Pacific a 14-1 win over Whitman in game one of Saturday's doubleheader. The grand slam accounted for the four run first inning that the Boxers, who added to their lead with a six-run in the sixth inning and one run each in the seventh and in the ninth. The 14 runs were ample support for senior pitcher Paul Wolfram, who picked up the win and extended the Boxers winning streak to five. Pacific went on to claim the nightcap 4-2.

Drew notched its first victory of the 2018 campaign with a 4-1 triumph over Brockport at Kean University's Jim Hynes Stadium. The contest was halted in the bottom of the seventh inning due to snow. The homestanding Kean Cougars used a four run eighth inning to turn a one run deficit into an 8-5 win over Stevens.
In a masterful early season pitching performance that saw sophomore right-hander Thomas Packert carry a no-hitter into the 7th inning, the Captains one-hit Keystone in a 6-0 shutout. The win was part of a doubleheader split as the Captains fell to DeSales, 7-3, in CNU's first game at the Armstrong/Diamond Methodist Invitational. DeSales scored twice in the seventh and added four runs in the ninth to take the season opener over the Captains. DeSales fell to Methodist 5-1 in their second game of the tournament. Christopher Newport improves to 4-1 with the split, while DeSales earned the team's first win of the year. Keystone falls to 0-2 with losses to Methodist and the Captains.
The strong start to the 2018 season continued on Saturday for Louisiana College as they picked up another doubleheader sweep. The Wildcats took down Loyola University of New Orleans in the double dip 12-3 and 9-6 to improve to 6-0 on the young season. The Wildcats travel to Sherman, Texas for a four game stint with Austin College next weekend.
Stevenson opened up their 2018 campaign with a pair of victories for first-year head coach Dave Gage by defeating Penn State-Abington by a final of 3-1 at J.P. Riddle Stadium, then following up with a 22-8 triumph over Frostburg State.

Patrick Schetter singled home the winning run in the top of the ninth inning as nationally top-ranked Cortland defeated 18th-ranked Salisbury, 5-4, in the season opener for both teams at the newly opened Salisbury Sea Gull Baseball Stadium. With the game knotted at 4-4, Cortland began its winning rally with a two-out single by Colin BeVard. Garrett Heaton followed with a single through the left side, and Schetter also singled through the left side to drive home BeVard with the go-ahead run.

Occidental won its opening SCIAC series after splitting their doubleheader against the Whittier Poets on Saturday. In the Poets game one win, the top of the order went 3-for-10 with four RBIs. In the rubber match of the series, The Tigers were able to hold on to a 4-3 victory behind big performances all over the field from Derek Sun, Eamon McNeil, and Michael Netzel.
No. 22-ranked Texas-Dallas kicked off its second weekend of the season with a pair of victories. The Comets opened Saturday with a 3-2 win over host Hendrix and then downed Washington-St. Louis, 7-3. The Comets opened the day with an early 2-0 over Hendrix but saw the Warriors tie the game in the fifth. A sac fly in the sixth gave Texas-Dallas the winning margin. In game two, it was a different story as the Comets used a late rally to pick up their second win of the day, scoring six runs in the final three innings of the 7-3 victory.
Oglethorpe earned a doubleheader split with the visiting MacMurray Highlanders at Anderson Field. They won the first game in a 21-6 rout, but MacMurray responded with a 7-4 victory in game two. The split moved the Stormy Petrels to 4-2 on the young season with the rubber game of the series coming on Sunday.
Centenary and Whitworth stood scoreless through five innings, but a key error and two-out rally by the Pirates in the sixth proved to be the difference as Centenary fell to Whitworth in the Clements Fluids Classic at Texas-Tyler. Trinity (Texas) remained undefeated at 5-0 with a 12-6 win over East Texas Baptist.
