No1 Cortland lost twice on Sunday. In their first game, Frostburg State hit three home runs and pushed six runs home in the sixth inning while holding the Red Dragons scoreless in seven of nine innings to earn an 8-5 victory at Babb Field in the Baltimore Invitational. Host Johns Hopkins also used a home run to send Cortland home without a win on the day. Dillon Bowman homered to right center in the tenth inning as the Blue Jays stole a 4-3 win in their invitational.

Hoping to build momentum from the tail end of last weekend's trip to Sauget, IL, No. 6 Concordia-Chicago headed south for the annual Spring Break trip to the Sunshine State. Today's game, the first of six games this next week, but the usual opening win was not to be this year, as the Cougars squandered some key scoring chances and lost to Heidelberg by a final score of 3-2 at Lake Myrtle Field in Auburndale.
Otterbein snapped a somewhat rare and unusual three-game skid in solid fashion, ending the weekend with a 7-5 victory over nationally-ranked St. John Fisher at the IMG Academy in Bradenton. The three game losing streeak was the longest for the Cardinals since a three game losing string in 2015.
Junior Tanner Gaerke went 8.0 innings and struck out seven as No. 4 Washington & Jefferson responded from a season-opening, extra-inning loss to Case Western Reserve with an 8-2 victory against the Spartans. W&J broke the game open with three runs in the bottom of the sixth. A pair of one-out walks to Mullen Socha and Dan Trettel set the table for Ryan Sciullo's second triple of the day which scored both runners. Sciullo crossed the plate on a wild pitch two batters later, 7-0.
Will Smith hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth to lift No. 16 Roanoke to a 4-3 win and a series sweep over Muhlenberg. Nick Raulin earned the win to move to 2-0 on the season while Truman Devitt was tabbed with the loss giving up three runs off seven hits. Salva led the way going 2-for-4 with two RBI while seven other Maroons tallied a hit on the day.
No. 17 Shenandoah completed an undefeated week by sweeping a non-league baseball doubleheader from CCNY. Shenandoah won 9-6 and 11-4 in the double-dip wins over the Beavers. While Shenandoah found plenty of run support for their pitching staff, the defense had a difficult afternooon, committing three errors in each of the games.

Wheaton (Mass.) scored eight runs in the seventh inning to pull away for a 14-5 victory over Nichols in a non-conference matchup at the New England Baseball Complex in Northborough, Mass. The Bison and Lyons will meet again on Tuesday night. Senior Chris Anderson went 2-for-3 with two RBI and a run scored to lead the Nichols offense. Classmate Cam Cook went 2-for-4 with a pair of runs scored, while sophomore Kyle Bouchard and junior Michael Carmody each added 2-for-4 days, with Carmody crossing the plate once. Sophomore Christian Naccari had his second-straight multi-hit day, going 2-for-5, with senior Nick Roy (1-for-5, RBI) and sophomore Chris Cerniglia(1-for-4) also adding hits on the day.
Rowan swept a doubleheader at 23rd-ranked Randolph-Macon. The Profs won the opener, 6-2 before defeating the Yellow Jackets, 9-2 in the nightcap. The second game was called after seven innings due to darkness.
Hendrix kicked off day two of their match-up with No. 14 Birmingham Southern Sunday and earned a series win with a 15-3 victory over the Panthers. Hendrix gave up two early runs before exploding for five in the second and never looked back as they added to their lead throughout the game. Taylor Barker almost tossed a complete game going six innings and striking out four in the run-ruled win. Seth Tucker, Judson, Layton Burge and JR McAuley each had two hits in the game; McAuley and Jorge Leon scored three and two runs respectively.
The 15th-ranked Trinity (Texas) Tigers finished off a weekend series against MIT with an 11-5 victory. Trinity got on the board first by way of a sacrifice fly off the bat of Rafe Chaumette. Blake Frampton was hit by a pitch to open the inning, then made his way around the bases on two wild pitches to set up the go-ahead score. The Tigers broke the game wide open with an extended two-out rally in the fourth inning. Trinity picked up five of its six hits in the game during a 10-run inning that also featured two MIT errors, five walks, and a hit batter. MIT got on the board with three runs in the seventh, which were highlighted by a two-run triple with two outs. The Engineers also added single runs in the eighth and ninth, but the damage of Trinity's fourth-inning explosion proved to be too much to overcome.
20th-ranked Methodist improved to 13-2 on the season with a doubleheader sweep of N.C. Wesleyan. Will May hit a go-ahead home run in the top of the ninth inning of the opener to break a 4-4 tie as Methodist would eventually win 6-2, and the Monarchs completed the sweep with an 11-6 win in the nightcap. The Monarchs remain perfect in the USA South Conference race with a 6-0 record.
