Using stellar defense to close out the final home series of the regular season, East Texas Baptist claimed the series sweep over the Mary Hardin-Baylor Crusaders, 5-4, on Saturday afternoon. With the American Southwest Conference win, ETBU improves to 27-10 overall and 16-5 in ASC play. Seth Mikeska led an all-around effort for ETBU, tallying two hits, one run, two RBI and a home run in four appearances at the plate. Landen Barns turned in a solid day's work as well recording a RBI, two hits and a homer in three at-bats. Chad Boudreaux claimed his 100th career strikeout in one inning of relief pitching for the Tigers earning his fourth save. As a team, ETBU picked up nine hits, four strikeouts and five stolen bases.
Washington & Jefferson combined for 20 runs on 27 hits and added a pair of strong pitching performances Saturday afternoon to record a sweep of Geneva in a Presidents' Athletic Conference doubleheader at Ross Memorial Park. The Presidents bats picked up right where they left off after Thursday's win at Geneva. W&J scored early and often against the Golden Tornadoes in Saturday's opener, winnng 12-4. Garrett Harstine was the story in the 8-0 nightcap win, as the senior tossed 6.0 scoreless innings to improve his record to 5-1 this season. Harstine allowed just one hit and struck out five during an efficient 72-pitch outing.
Junior Chase Counts slammed four home runs with eight RBIs, and sophomore Ryan Clawson hit two home runs with seven RBIs, as Hampden-Sydney split an ODAC doubleheader on the road at Shenandoah on Saturday in Winchester. Junior Chase Mayberry gained the pitching victory in the 20-6 opener for the visiting Tigers (16-15-2, 10-8-1), and senior Trey Celata received a save, while sophomore Bradford Webb took the mound setback in the 14-17 nightcap against the host Hornets (20-11, 10-9).
Trinity (Conn.) Bantams eked out a pair of wins, 9-8, and, 1-0, in a doubleheader against the visiting Hamilton College Continentals this afternoon at Murren Family Field in DiBenedetto Stadium. Trinity improves to 23-5 and has won four games in a row entering a road contest at Western New England on Tuesday.
Ithaca secured home field for the upcoming Empire 8 Conference Tournament with a doubleheader sweep of Houghton at Kerr-Pegula Field with scores of 4-3 and 16-5. The Bombers are now 22-7 overall and 15-2 in the Empire 8 and are set to host the Empire 8 Tournament for the first time in program history on May 10-12. Houghton drops to 10-17 on the year and 5-8 in the conference.
DePauw scored four runs each in the ninth and 10th innings of its first game at Hiram for a 13-9 North Coast Athletic Conference win and plated five in the final two innings of game two for a 9-4 victory and a doubleheader sweep. The Tigers moved to 19-11 overall and 6-4 in NCAC play, while Hiram dropped to 5-23 overall and 0-12 in the conference. Nolan Lavender had five of DePauw's 20 hits in game one. Jackson Williams led the Togers with six hits on the day, four in game one and two in game two.
For the second straight Saturday, Hood blanked its Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth foe, defeating Albright 4-0 and 6-0 to clinch a spot in the upcoming conference tournament. Jordan Patterson tossed a two-hit shutout in the second game, walking four and striking out two. In game one, he went 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI. Brad Sawyer and Ryan D'Allesandro combined on a five-hit shutout in the opener. Sawyer went six innings, striking out four, walking two and allowing five hits. D'Allesandro completed a perfect seventh inning in relief. Sawyer started game two at first base and went 2 for 3 with a double and triple. Dylan Beck went 3 for 6 between the two games.
The Eastern Mennonite Diamond Royals were able to hang on to the lead in game two of their doubleheader against Roanoke to come away with the split on Senior Recognition Day. The win moves the Royals to 15-19-1 on the season and improve to 9-10 in the ODAC with just three conference games remaining. The Royals play their final home game of the year on Tuesday against Bridgewater. Game starts at 4:00pm and will be the Rowdy Royals game where all of EMU's student athletes will be in attendance. EMU lead both contests but a pair of six run innings led to a 16-5 win for Roanoke in game one. EMU won the nightcap 8-7.
Calvin took both ends of a conference doubleheader with Kalamazoo, winning by scores of 2-1 and 5-2. The twinbill sweep vaults the Knights into fourth place in the MIAA standings at 7-11 in conference play. Calvin (11-17 overall) received stellar starting pitching performances in both games. Junior Trevor VanDuyn tossed a seven-inning complete game gem, scattering nine hits while giving up just one run. VanDuyn helped his cause defensively in the fifth inning as she snared a line drive with one out and doubled off a runner at second base to end the inning. Freshman Mark Primus tossed seven innings of shutout ball, striking out seven while walking only one. Mixing his fastball with off-speed pitches, Primus allowed only four hits.
Host Washington College and visiting Muhlenberg split a Centennial Conference doubleheader on Saturday at afternoon Athey Baseball Park. In game one, the Shoremen took a 2-0 lead two batters into the game and never trailed on their way to an 8-5 victory and in game two the Mules raced out to a 3-0 lead and held off a rally from the Shoremen to win 3-2. The Shoremen are now 24-10 overall and 6-8 in the Centennial, while Mules are now 17-15 overall and 7-7 in the conference. Muhlenberg was the home team for the doubleheader as the twinbill was moved to Chestertown from Allentown, Pa. due to weather reasons.

The Berry Vikings closed out the regular season on a strong note with an 8-4, 10-1, doubleheader sweep of Centre on Senior Day. The Vikings secure the No. 3 seed in the SAA tournament. Berry ends the regular season with a 27-13 record overall and 13-8 in the conference. Pitchers Dylan Beasley and Garrett West combined to dominate the Colonels on Saturday afternoon. West shined through six innings of work, surrendering one run on four hits and striking out seven. Beasley threw seven strong innings, striking out five only allowing three runs.
Case Western Reserve freshman Nick Denove carried a no-hitter into the fifth inning, and senior outfielder Jacob Pestel and sophomore shortstop Jacob Lott each drove in a pair of runs, as the Spartans picked up an 8-1 win over Heidelberg at Nobby's Ballpark in Cleveland, Ohio on Saturday. The win was the second-straight against an opponent either nationally ranked or receiving votes for the Spartans, who improved to 20-11 overall. Heidelberg dropped to 22-10 with the setback. Denove pitched six innings on Saturday, allowing just three hits and one run in the game, striking out six batters and walking just one. He held the Student Princes without a hit until surrendering a two-out bunt single in the top of the fifth, and ended his day after throwing just 79 pitched by working around a bases-loaded one-out jam in the top of the sixth. Denove earned the win in the game to improve to 5-2 overall, while dropping his ERA to 2.44 with the effort.
The Penn State Berks continued to score in bunches as they earned a sweep over Lancaster Bible College in a NEAC doubleheader on Saturday afternoon. The Nittany Lions won the opener by a score of 14-6, followed by a 14-8 victory in the second game. The Nittany Lions (19-8, 10-2 NEAC) have extended their winning streak to 10 straight after finishing off the series sweep over the Chargers (8-15, 4-8 NEAC). Berks, despite playing on its home field, were the visitors for both games of the doubleheader.
Nebraska Wesleyan shattered the school record for runs scored in a game on Saturday when the Prairie Wolves put up 30 runs in a 30-10 victory over Luther in game two of an American Rivers Conference baseball doubleheader at NWU Field. The Norse won the first game 14-11 in a doubleheader that lasted over seven hours. NWU took two out of three games against the Norse as the Prairie Wolves put on an offensive show. In three game, NWU combined to score 51 runs in three games. NWU is now 9-19 overall and 7-9 in conference play to sit alone in 6th place in the league standings. The school record 30 runs are the 4th most runs scored in an NCAA III game this season. NWU's previous high for runs in a game was 25.
St. Olaf split a MIAC twin bill with St. Thomas, downing the Tommies, 3-2, in the first game, and falling, 15-13 in the second game at Mark Almli Field on Saturday afternoon. After St. Thomas (16-8, 8-3 MIAC) tied the score in the top of the fifth, Luke Dahl hit his second home run of the game in the bottom of the inning to account for the final run and secure the victory for St. Olaf (16-9, 7-5 MIAC). The Tommies trailed the Oles, 13-12, heading into the final inning of the second game. St. Thomas scored three runs in the top of the ninth to take the lead, and held St. Olaf scoreless in the bottom of the inning to get the win.
Lynchburg played to an Old Dominion Athletic Conference split with visiting Bridgewater Saturday afternoon, winning the opener in walk-off fashion, 5-4, before dropping the nightcap by a 3-2 score. Sophomore utility man Parker Shaffer had five hits and scored twice for Lynchburg on the day, while freshman third baseman Garrett Jackson drove in three Lynchburg runs.
