The Methodist Monarchs' pitching delivered in game oneand the bats delivered in the second game as Methodist swept Lynchburg in a non-conference doubleheader at home Tuesday evening. Methodist earned its first shutout of the season with a seven-inning, 3-0 victory in the first game and then Methodist generated a season-high 12 runs in Game 2, winning 12-4. The trio of Noah Latta, Ethan Caldwell, and Ryan Hill combined for a team shutout in Game 1 while the 7-8-9 hitters (Hunter Hollman-Christian Yarbrough-Will Dagenhart) powered Methodist to a game two win as the trio combined for nine hits, six RBIs, and five runs scored.

No. 3 Trinity (Texas) improved to 6-0 Tuesday as it took its midweek visit to Hardin-Simmons, 7-3. Sophomore leftfielder Brian Schaub parked a pair of solo shots over the fence to keep the bats moving as the Tigers scored in all of the first five innings. First-year right-hander Harrison Durow picked up his first collegiate victory from the mound with five and two-thirds innings of work in relief as he cooled the Cowboy offense early.

Piedmont woke the bats up in game two of its series with No. 22 Adrian as the Lions exploded for double digit runs in a 10-5 win over the Bulldogs. The Lions (5-3 overall) tallied 12 hits and used an aggressive baserunning approach to jump out to an 8-0 lead by the sixth inning. Each of Piedmont's first two runs came on separate double steal attempts in the second and third innings. Adrian mounted a comeback attempt with three runs in the seventh and another in the eighth, but a two-RBI single from Conner Jelley in the Piedmont half of the eighth increased the margin to 10-4, which was enough insurance despite another run in the ninth for the Bulldogs. Yesterday, in the only game on scheduled, sophomore AJ Miranda hit his first career home run in the top of the 14th inning to lift Adrian to a 4-3 non-conference victory over host Piedmont. The Lions' pitching was stellar as the pitching staff combined for record 25 strikeouts.

Jacob Perry used a two-run triple to ignite a three-run
7th inning as Texas-Dallas rallied for a 6-5
non-conference road win over Southwestern.

On February 25, 2020 UW-Superior opened its season at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis taking on Carroll. A mere 12 days and six games later, a cap was called on the season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Tuesday, head coach Frank Pafall's team returned to the place where it all began a year ago, on the turf of US Bank Stadium in downtown Minneapolis, this time taking on UMAC foe Crown College in a pair of seven-inning contests to open what is hoped to be a long baseball season. The opening note turned out to be sour, however, as Crown broke a tie game open with a five-run seventh inning to take game one 9-4. In the nightcap, the Storm rode a big first inning to a 17-4 win and a doubleheader sweep over the Yellowjackets.

Texas Lutheran turned a 1-0 deficit into an 8-1 lead with a five-run fifth inning that propelled the Bulldogs to a 9-3 non-conference victory over Mary Hardin-Baylor on Tuesday. At UMHB's Red Murff Field, the Bulldogs sent 12 men to the plate in the fifth and collected the eight runs on six hits with the help of a balk, a walk, a wild pitch, a hit-by-pitch, an error, and a sacrifice fly.

Illinois Wesleyan completed the series sweep of Greenville Tuesday afternoon, March 2, with an 11-0 run-rule victory at Family Sports Park in O'Fallon, Ill. Moving to 3-0 on the season, the Titans are off to their best start since winning four straight to start the 2018 season. For the third consecutive game Illinois Wesleyan registered double-digit hits, as the Titans' 11 runs came on 12 hits. Juniors Dominic DiLello Jack Schneider Collin Elvers, and sophomore Ethan Burgh all notched two hits apiece, while DiLello and Elvers also added two RBIs each. Burgh finished the day 2-for-3 with three runs scored and a pair of walks. Freshman Jacob Cyrus went 1-for-2 at the plate with a solo home run. On the mound, the Titans used a by-committee approach. Junior Evan Hill earned the start and tossed the first three innings, allowing one hit and strike out two. Junior Jacob Duffy, and seniors Joe Prestamer, Dan Trudeau, and Matt Blaney pitched an inning each to close it out.

McMurry was unable to find its first victory of the season in midweek action, as the War Hawks fell to Wayland Baptist by a final of 21-8 at Walt Driggers Field in Abilene. With a 5-3 lead heading into the third inning, Wayland Baptist (10-6) took advantage of two defensive errors and scored eight unearned runs to pad its lead. McMurry (0-5) cut the 13-3 deficit in half with five straight runs over the next two innings, including a Ryan Potter RBI double, an RBI groundout by freshman Blake Beach and a three-run bomb by senior Sam Hillyer. But it was too little, too late as WBU closed it in eighth frames. Potter, Beach and Hillyer each had two hits in a 11 hit day for the War Hawks. Potter went 2-for-4 with a double, a homer and two RBI, while Hillyer had a homer, a walk, two runs and three RBI. Defensively, the War Hawks struggled with nine errors, making for 11 unearned runs.
