Texas-Dallas belted three home runs for the second straight game as the Comets rolled over Mary Hardin-Baylor, 8-1, to kick off a three-game American Southwest Conference series Friday afternoon.

Luther hosted Dubuque Friday afternoon for the American Rivers Conference opener for the Norse, sweeping Dubuque 3-1, 5-1. In the opener the big hit came from the bat of Noah Sebben who hit a two-run home run over the left field fence that proved to be the final runs of the game. Luther defeated Dubuque 5-1 in the nightcap, doing all of their damage in the second and third frames, scoring twice in the second and three times in the third. John Culucci III picked up his second win of the season. Culucci threwsix complete innings, allowed one run on 10 hits, walked one and struck out four. Ross Hingst, Nate Loch and Calvin Brinda each threw a scoreless inning to secure the victory

No. 18 UW-Whitewater extended its win streak to six games Friday with a pair of victories over Finlandia (Mich.) in a doubleheader at Prucha Field at James B. Miller Stadium. The Warhawks (6-0 overall) allowed a combined two hits in the two games, topping the Lions 14-0 in the opener before a 10-0 triumph in the nightcap. Both games concluded after seven innings by run rule. In Game 2, pitcher Matt O'Sullivan was perfect through 6 1/3 innings, struck out the first 13 batters he faced and totaled a career-high 17 strikeouts for the game, tied for the second-most in one game in program history (Michael Kaska, 2019). His perfect game was broken up on a single to center in the top of the seventh.  

Freshman designated hitter John Willette went 4-for-9 with three runs scored, a double, a grand slam and seven RBI as Rhode Island College swept a doubleheader, 12-3; 14-7, from New England College on Friday afternoon at Pontarelli Field. Connor Davey earned the win (1-0), allowing three runs on six hits and struck out five in 4.0 innings. Junior reliever Shaun Gamelin earned the save (1-0), throwing a dominant three innings without allowing a hit and notching seven punchouts. Senior starter Tyler Shemick was solid in seven innings of work in the late game, allowing three runs on seven hits to go along with nine strikeouts, to earn his first win (1-0).

You knew it was going to be a good day at The Buck when Andy Gravdahl led off the bottom of the first with an uncontested triple and little-used, base-path threat Ben Swanson stole two bases in the same inning. Those two offensive gems, paired with a Canaan Fagerland home run and another multiple-strikeout pitching performance from Ty Syverson added up to an 8-1 win for Concordia over Minn.-Morris. The Cobbers put up multiple-run innings in the third, fourth and seventh innings to pull away from the Cougars and record their first home win of the year. Concordia is now 4-2 on the season while Morris drops to 0-5. Syverson continues to showcase his stuff as one of the top arms in the MIAC. His 4.0-inning stint marked the third time this season he has fanned at lead eight batters. He now has 26 Ks for the season which is second most in the league. He is now 3-0 for the year and his three wins are tied for the most in the MIAC. His 1.32 ERA is third best among starters with at least 10.0 innings pitched.

The top-ranked Trinity (Texas) Tigers began its three-game SCAC weekend with an 8-7 win over the University of St. Thomas in 10 innings. Trinity out-hit St. Thomas 16-11 in the game and was plagued by a season-high six errors in the field. The Tigers still managed to pull off the extra-inning win as Michael Goodrich singled in the 10th and then came around to score on a fielder's choice from Jack Baker. In the 10th, Trinity set up the go-ahead score with back-to-back one-out hits from Goodrich and Metz. Rafe Chaumette was intentionally walked after the runners moved up on a wild pitch, setting up Baker with the game-winning RBI. Cade McGahan and Ethan Clark combined to strike out 11 batters, but the Tiger pitchers also allowed seven runs on 10 hits over the first 6.2 innings. Matthew Mackey and Harrison Durow closed out the game, allowing just one hit over the final 3.1 innings. Mackey (1-0) earned his first career win and Durow picked up his first career save.

Buena Vista chalked up 31 base hits and 21 total runs on Friday afternoon en route to a doubleheader sweep over Loras College by scores of 6-1 and 15-12. Senior Tyler Tennyson held the league's leading offense in check throughout the series opener by surrendering just one run on seven hits. He also helped himself out at the plate by driving in two runs while going 1-for-3 in the opener. He put the team in front in the top of the first with a sacrifice fly and added an RBI single in the fourth to push the lead to 5-0. The offensive barrage continued into the second game with seven different players recording at least two hits in the contest. The Beavers scored seven times in the second inning capped by Caden Matheweson's two-run home run that scored his brother Jaden who had doubled home a run earlier in the inning.

Sul Ross and Belhaven settled for a doubleheader split Friday with a 7-3 win in game one for the Lobos before falling 7-6 in game two against Belhaven. Sul Ross staked their game one starter, Isaiah Moya, a 5-0 enroute to the opening win. Moya finished with four strikeouts and no walks over his six innings of work. Brett Sanchez got the start in the ender and the win on the bump for the Blazers to stay undefeated on the season. Additionally, Sanchez threw his fourth complete game of the season. Kyle McLaughlin led the Blazers going 3-for-4 from the plate and scored two runs in the contest. Trip Benson finished the game with 3 RBI and batted .750 in the game. As a team, the Blazers had seven runs on 12 hits and one error. The Green and Gold also had five stolen bases on the night.

LaGrange walked off with a 5-4 win over Piedmont on Friday night at Cleaveland Field in Williamson Stadium. The Panthers improved to 8-4 with their third straight win. The Lions dropped to 10-8 with their fourth straight loss. The game was tied 4-4 going to the bottom of the ninth. Cael Chatham led off the inning with a first pitch line drive single to right off reliever Justin Manus (0-1). Manus came back by striking out the next two batters. E.J. Churchich followed with a opposite field single to right as Chatham headed for third. Churchich got hung up in a run down between first and second long enough for Chatham to make a break for home. The throw to the plate was wild as Chatham scored the winning run.

Rockford  (5-4) swept the Lakeland  Muskies (2-5)
Friday with both games going into extra innings. The
Regents won game one 11-10 in 10 innings from a
walk-off walk. Rockford also won game two 9-5 in 10
innings with a walk-off grand slam by Christian Garcia.

Stockton University (2-0) took the field for the first time in 381 days and celebrated its long-awaited return to the diamond by sweeping #14 Kean University (4-3) with a pair of 7-5 victories. The Ospreys scored six runs in the ninth inning of each game to come from behind and win. John Perrino went 2-4 with a walk, run and an RBI in the opener. Rico Viani walked four times and scored once for the Ospreys.

Wittenberg University carried their hot start onto the road, taking down NCAA Division II opponent Cedarville University, 17-5. The Tigers collected 16 hits behind the hot bats of Jack Siefert and Ryan Probst. Siefert tallied his second home run of the season, finishing the day 2 for 4 with four runs batted in. Probst finished the day 3 for 4 from the plate, driving in three Tiger runs. With this win, the Tigers match their longest winning streak since 2005, at eight games, which started with a 12-3 win over Cedarville. Tyler Defibaugh earned his first win in a Wittenberg uniform, putting in 4.2 innings of work on the mound for the Tigers. Defibaugh faced 17 Cedarville batters, allowing just two hits and striking out five.

Junior catcher Steve Yelin contributed three extra-base hits and five RBI as William Paterson (7-2) cruised to an 11-3 victory against visiting Rutgers-Camden (0-4). Yelin finished 3-for-4 with two doubles, a two-run homer, five RBI and two runs scored. Matt Ferrara was 3-for-4 while tallying a double, three RBI and two runs, and DiGirolamo posted two hits, an RBI and three runs scored. Sophomore Darmany Rivas improved to 2-0 with 6.0 shutout innings, striking out seven while scattering four hits and a walk. Senior Zac Polzer allowed one unearned run during 1.0 inning of action, and freshman Pat Warburton tossed the final 2.0 frames while giving up two runs and four hits with one punchout.

NC Wesleyan College knocked out 15 hits en route to an 11-5 conference victory over rival Methodist University from Bauer Field on Friday afternoon. With the win, the #17 Bishops improve to 16-2 on the season and 4-0 in the conference while MU falls to 7-11 and 1-3 in conference. The teams resume their series tomorrow at 12 Noon with a doubleheader. Jackson Hobbs led the Bishop offense with 3 hits while four other Bishops two hits apiece. Both of Nathan Hibbs' hits were doubles while all nine starting position players recorded hits for Wesleyan on the day.

Willamette University scored two runs in the top of the seventh inning to break a 1-1 tie, as the Bearcats defeated the University of Puget Sound, 3-1, in the first game of a Northwest Conference doubleheader on Friday, March 26 at Logger Baseball Field. The Loggers tallied six runs in the fifth inning of the second game to rally from a 7-5 deficit on their way to an 11-7 win that split the doubleheader. WU and Puget Sound will play a second NWC doubleheader on Saturday, March 27. First pitch is set for 12 p.m. (PDT). The Bearcats enter tomorrow's action with an 11-7 overall record, including 5-5 in the NWC. Puget Sound is 7-7 overall, 3-5 in the NWC.

In the opener, Willette keyed a four-run fourth with a two-run single to put RIC on top, 4-3, and helped put the game out of reach with a massive grand slam to left field in the fifth. After falling behind, in the nightcap, RIC put across four runs in the bottom of the first as Willette and sophomore catcher Alex Martinez each smacked RBI doubles. A six-run sixth, highlighted by a two-run double by sophomore first baseman Jarrad Grossguth staked the Anchormen to a 13-3 advantage and survived a late push by the Pilgrims who plated four runs in the top of the ninth before freshman reliever Anthony Scivola came on to secure the final out.

The York Spartans split a MAC Commonwealth doubleheader against Alvernia University on a very windy Friday afternoon at Jaquet Field. The Spartans won game one 8-7 in eight innings and the Golden Wolves earned the split with a 9-6 nine-inning win in the nightcap. The games were played in 25 mph winds with gusts reaching over 40 mph during the two games. A number of plays were impacted as both teams dealt with the extreme conditions.The meeting between the two programs is the first since 1993 and York now holds an 11-5 lead in the all-time series, The Spartan pitching staff struck out 27 and walked just three in 17 innings on Friday but also gave up 16 runs in the two games, their highest two game runs allowed total of the year, York had triples in each game as they now have a conference-leading seven for the year. York also lead the Commonwealth with 14 home runs and 111 RBI in 12 games.

 Calvin split its doubleheader at Alma by winning the first game 4-1 and losing the second game 14-10 on Friday afternoon. VanDuyn pitched a complete game for the Knights and only allowed five hits, one run and struck out five batters on the day. Pomepy and Williams each finished with two hits and RBI for the Calvin and the Knights had eight total hits in the game. Calvin's junior Andrew Hung's two-run home run in the 7th inning was as close as Calvin got and fell to Alma 14-10 in the ender.
