No. 19 Shenandoah University kept its ODAC baseball record perfect on the season by sweeping a league doubleheader Saturday at Emory & Henry. In what is likely to be the Hornets (8-1, 5-0 ODAC) last trip to E&H, SU got a 7-0 win in the opener before completing the sweep over the Wasps (0-4, 0-4) with a 12-4 game two victory.

The 23rd-ranked College of Wooster returned to action with a wild 1-0 walk-off win, and then the Fighting Scots ran away from Ohio Wesleyan University 18-1 in game two on Saturday afternoon at Art Murray Field. As fate would have it in game one, senior second baseman Gabe Sherman led off the bottom of the eighth inning after making a spectacular play up the middle on C.J. Colson's grounder to end the top of the frame. The business economics major and Colson squared off again with Sherman depositing a leadoff single over the Battling Bishops' (0-2) shortstop's outstretched glove. Next, junior Ben Hines laid down the walk-off sacrifice bunt-turned-error. Ohio Wesleyan reliver Andy Anthony originally looked to retire Sherman at second, then ultimately uncorked a wild throw in an attempt to retire Hines at first. That errant throw enabled Sherman to motor all the way around the bases for the winning run.

Kalamazoo College traveled to Grand Park for a pair of 9-inning non-conference games against Adrian and Hope on Saturday. The Hornets won both games to improve to 6-0, the best known start in program history. After seven scoreless innings, Kalamazoo scored four runs in the top of the eighth inning. Adrian loaded the bases with two outs in the bottom of the eighth and pushed a run across with a walk. Doug Propson moved to the mound and ended the inning with a strikeout to get out of the jam. The Bulldogs put one runner on in the bottom of the ninth but could not get any closer as Propson ended the game with his second save of the season. Kalamazoo scored four runs in the first en route to a 7-2 win over the Flying Dutchmen. Kalamazoo had nine hits in the game while Hornet pitchers limited Hope to just three hits overall.

The 9th-ranked Rowan Profs split a doubleheader with No. 7 Salisbury on Saturday afternoon, dropping the first game, 4-3, but coming back to win the second, 6-2. In the second game, Alex Kokos went 3-for-5 with three RBI while Ryan Murphy was 3-for-3 with two runs and an RBI. Ryan McIsaac was 2-for-5 with two runs scored and Jason Bobiak went 2-for-4 as Rowan handed Salisbury (3-1) its first loss of the year. Zach Listro earned the win in relief, striking out three in three innings as Donald Zellman was the starter for Rowan. In the first game, Rowan fell behind, 3-0, and got its first hit in the fifth. Salisbury scored its insurance run in the sixth before Rowan pulled within one.

Senior Ben Lambert and junior Joshua Joy each turned in strong performances on the mound to lead the no. 11 University of Southern Maine Huskies to a non-conference doubleheader sweep of the Husson University Eagles Saturday afternoon at the Winkin Complex. With each team playing in its 2021 season-opening games, Southern Maine starts its season at 2-0. The Eagles are 0-2. Lambert, a 2019 ABCA second team All-American, picked up his first win of the season firing five scoreless innings. Striking out nine, Lambert allowed just two hits and two walks for the season-opening win. Husson starter senior Cam Graham was saddled with the loss allowing seven runs (two earned) on three hits and five walks in 2.1 innings. n game two, Joy earned the win tossing six scoreless innings, yielding just one hit, while fanning eight.

NC Wesleyan College rolled to a 7-3 conference opening win over Greensboro College on Saturday afternoon from Bauer Field. The win was Wesleyan's sixth straight as they improve to 13-2 on the season. Wesleyan again got out to another quick start and made it 6-0 Bishops after five innings. Greensboro would add some runs late off Bishop senior starter Derrick Carter as he pitched into the 8th inning but had only allowed one run through 7 innings. He Finished 7 and 2/3 innings by allowing only 7 hits and one earned run with 2 walks and 6 strikeouts to improve to 3-0 on the year and brought his ERA below 3.0 to 2.93. Freshman reliever Danny Thompson then came on to close the game getting the final four outs and striking out three. Junior outfielder Zach Lyon then finisihed the scoring for the Bishops with his leadoff solo home run in the 8th inning as he finished with 3 hits. Pennington and Morgan also recorded extra-base hits on the game as well.

No. 3 Washington University extended its winning streak to seven games with 12-1 and 10-0 wins over DePauw University. The Bears improve to 7-0 while the Tigers dip to 7-5. Senior Ryan Loutos earned his third win of the season by striking out 12 of the 26 (.462) batters he faced from the mound. Senior Tim Tague claimed his second win of the season by allowing two hits and striking out six batters. Henry Singer's big day concluded with a two-run single to center to end the game in the seventh with a 10-0 victory.

Birmingham-Southern split its Southern Athletic Association doubleheader against Centre College Saturday afternoon. A walk-off homer lifted the Panthers to a 4-3 game one win before falling 5-3 in the nightcap.
Three Panthers finished with three hits on the day, led by Will Evans who hit .750, and Cole Steadman who sent two of his three hits over the fence. Robbie Lively earned the win and Hanan Mauldin received the loss. Andy Hammond struck out a team-high seven batters after eight innings of work in his start.

Aurora University swept their doubleheader against Edgewood College, 14-6 and 5-2, on Saturday at Schmid Field. Edgewood came out swinging, putting up two runs in the opening frame but AU would answer with seven in the bottom half on four hits. The big hit coming from Collin Meinert's double. Edgewood would have no solutuion to the AU bats as the Spartans rolled to a win. The Eagles would open the scoring again in game two but AU would score four in the second and after trading runs in the fourth finished up the sweep.

No. 25 Centenary (La.) remained red hot on Saturday as the Gents swept a doubleheader over the Austin College 'Roos in convincing fashion at Baker Field to sweep the weekend series, winning 13-4 and 16-1 in seven innings. The Gents (16-2,3-0 SCAC) are off to their best start in the division III era (2012-present). The 'Roos fell to 4-6 on the season with the two losses on Saturday. Centenary won 15-10 in the series opener on Friday. Centenary has now won 25 of its last 31 games overall going back to the start of last season and the Maroon and White continued their astonishing offensive output as the Gents have now scored 10 or more runs in a game 10 times this season, and 11 or more eight times. The Gents have done so seven times during their current 10-game winning streak. Centenary scored at least 13 runs in all three games of the series and have now scored 15 runs in a game three times this season.
