Ithaca improved to 7-4 on the season with a 4-1 upset victory over No. 3 Wisconsin-Stevens Point on Thursday, at Lake Myrtle Park. Kyle Lambert (pictured) was the star of the game as he scattered three hits over 8.0 innings and struck out 11 batters to just two walks issued. Lambert is now 2-0 on the season and has struck out 35 hitters in 25.0 innings pitched over four starts.

Senior Tim Noone struck out 10 batters over 7.1 scoreless innings and juniors Brant Savage and Ike Kiely had three hits apiece in a 14-hit attack as Babson rolled past Wooster, 16-0, Thursday afternoon in its final game of the Snowbird Baseball Classic at Centennial Park Field 10. Noone allowed just two hits and a walk through one out in the eighth inning. Senior Anthony St. John came on and retired the last five Wooster batters in a row, including three by strikeout, to preserve the whitewash. Savage went 3-for-6 with a home run and three RBI while Kiely was 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI for the Beavers. Junior Tanner Santos and first-year Chris Basile both reached base four times with a single, a double and two walks while each knocked in two, and first-year Ryan Hvozdovic collected two hits and a walk and drove in one.

Senior catcher Mark Mohnickey Jr. hit a walk off home run to right field that lifted No. 4 nationally-ranked Baldwin Wallace to a 12-11 victory over Oberlin in a non-conference on the Fisher Field. BW (12-2) was led by Mohnickey who went 3-5 with the walk off home run. Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference first baseman Alexis Castillo went 2-3 with two runs scored and a two-run home run. Junior infielder Nick Clark went 2-3 with a solo home run, three runs scored and had a run batted in.

Cornell senior pitcher Kole Hinrichsen crafted a complete-game one-hit shutout in Thursday's 5-0 game one win over St. Norbert at Lake Myrtle Park. The Rams were one out away from securing a sweep when St. Norbert connected for a walk-off three-run homer in the bottom of the seventh to win the nightcap, 5-3. Hinrichsen (2-1) was his dominant self on the hill, recording the team's first shutout win since May 2021 (Cameron Anfang vs. Knox). The right-hander struck out 10 and issued just one walk over seven stress-free innings. St. Norbert's lone hit was a clean single to right with two outs in the third. Hinrichsen retired 12 of the first 13 batters he faced and did not allow a runner to advance past second base the entire game. The Rams were in control for most of Game 2, leading 3-1 in the fourth after a two-run homer by Drew Logel, his team-high third of the season. Logel accounted for all three of the team's RBIs. St. Norbert (5-8) singled home a run in the bottom of the seventh to make it 3-2. The Green Knights had runners at first and third with two outs when Trevor Reinhardt ended it with a homer to left-center.

Sophomore CJ Willis collected his fourth home run of the season on Thursday morning, a home run that broke the Western New England all-time record for most home runs in a single career, which now stands with Willis at 18 total home runs. The Golden Bears would use the Willis grand slam to propel past the Cougars of Minnesota Morris University by a final score of 14-8. All starting nine Golden Bears collected at least one hit while CJ Willis notched three hits, scoring two runs and collecting four RBIs on the day. WNE is now hitting .309 as a team while smashing nine home runs on the season through eight games.

Alfred State won 7-2 against Eureka. After a first inning run was scored by Eureka to go up 1-0 Nick Serce hit a 2-run homerun to give the Pioneers a 2-1 lead after the first inning. Serce walked in his other 3 at-bats. In the fourth inning, Eureka scored another run to tie the game at 2. Brody Burdett hit a deep fly ball with the bases loaded in the 5th inning that scored 3 runs for Alfred State and gave them the lead 5-2. The Pioneers tacked on 2 more runs in the 7th inning with two sacricife flys. Jon White threw four innings and gave up no earned runs. White struck out 3 hitters and only gave up 2 hits. Zachary Miner threw five innings and earned his first college win. His relief appearance consisted of 2 k's and 2 bb's. Miner gave up no runs and only 4 hits on the day.

Tyler Cannon went 4-for-4 and Jason O'Neill struck out eight as 11th-ranked Rowan rolled to an 11-1 win over Rogers Williams at the RussMatt Invitational, in a game shortened to seven innings because of the 10-run margin. Rowan improves to 7-3 with its second straight win. O'Neill picked up his second victory of the year as he allowed just one run and posted a career-high eight strikeouts while going all seven innings. Cannon had a double and his first home run of the year, while scoring two runs to lead the offense. Dylan Maria was 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and two RBI, with Phil Sedalis going 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBI.

Chatham earned a 10-0 victory Thursday night over the Penn State Fayette Lions. The game was called in the bottom of the seventh inning after the Cougars took a 10-0 lead. With the win, Chatham is now 5-6 on the season. Junior right hander Dom Costellic started the game for the Cougars and had success early on the bump, striking out four batters in the first two innings, with all of them going down looking. Costellic ended the day with 5.0 scoreless innings, eight strikeouts and the win. Jake Bredl went 2-3 with a triple and four RBI. Junior infielder Benny Dottle was 3-4 with an RBI of his own.

Johns Hopkins took advantage of their late game opportunities, erasing a 5-4 deficit by scoring two runs in the eighth inning and three in the ninth to take a 9-5 victory over UMass Boston. The Blue Jays found themselves with a 5-4 deficit heading into the top of the eighth, needing to strike to take the lead back. Tripp Myers and Caleb Cyr worked themselves on base with a single and a walk respectively. After a wild pitch, both Cyr and Myers advanced into scoring position and a second wild pitch would bring Myers home to tie the game at five. Dylan Whitney came through with a sac fly to left field that scored Cyr for his second RBI of the game to put Johns Hopkins back on top. The Blue Jays finished the game with 13 hits, which is the eighth time this season they have finished with 10 or more hits in a game. Johns Hopkins is a perfect 8-0 in those contests. Jimmy Stevens led the Jays in hits going 3-for-5 with two RBI. It was Stevens' fourth multi-hit performance this season. Matt Savedoff earned his third win on the season with his stellar performance on the mound out of the bullpen. Savedoff fired 3.2 scoreless innings while punching out five batters to lead the Jays to the win.

Jack Boyle went 3-for-3 on Thursday to spearhead a 12-hit attack as the Amherst rolled to a 13-1 victory over Beloit in game that ended after 7 innings. The Mammoths took a 1-0 lead in the second. Tyler McCord reached on an error, and with two outs Christian Fagnant roped an RBI-double to score McCord with an unearned run for the one-run lead. Amherst added two in rhe third when Jack McDermott lined a one-out double. With two outs,McDermott took third on a wild pitcher as Jackson Reydel walked. Luke Padian than lined an opposite-field, two-run double for the 3-0 lead. The Mammoths scored four runs on four hits in the fourth to take a 7-1 lead. Boyle led things off with a single. With one out and runners on first and second, Jack Sampedro came through with an RBI-single. McDermott followed by crushing a ball to straightaway center for a two-run triple. With two outs, Reydel lashed an RBI-single to left for a 7-1 lead. First-year Tristan Kim did the rest, twirling a beauty on the bump, allowing only two hits over six full frames while walking three and fanning five to earn his first collegiate victory.

WPI made its New England debut with a decisive 8-1 win over Brandeis on Thursday at the New England Baseball Complex. WPI's Jacob Hand had three hits, including a double, and an RBI, while Kyle Johns, Kyle DeRoma, and Andrew Cash each had a hit with two RBIs. Joseph Peregrim tossed an eight-inning win, giving up one run on three hits with four strikeouts. Jack Gomes pitched a scoreless ninth inning in relief. For Brandeis, Brian King had two hits including a solo home run. WPI doubled its run total with a four-spot in the bottom of the eighth to put the game away. A Johns single started the scoring, while a Cash single added two RBI. A Gavin George single up the middle made it 8-1 before Brandeis got the final batter of the frame to strike out.

No. 8 UW-Whitewater topped Edgewood 8-5 Thursday morning in Pensacola, Fla. in the team's second game of the Studer's Blue Wahoo Challenge. The Warhawks plated runs in six innings Thursday, blasting eight hits along the way. Sam Vomhof and Adam Cootway led UWW with three hits each. O'Brien went 2-for-4 with a double, his third in two games. Joey Pettit picked up the win in his first start of the season fanning five while allowing four hits in five innings of work. Donovan Brandl and Logan Eisenbarth combined to close the game on the mound for the Warhawks.

Gettysburg scored three runs in the bottom of the first inning and never looked back in a 14-6 win over Lycoming. Ten different Gettysburg players had at least one hit in the contest. David Preziuso led the Bullets with two hits, three RBIs, two runs scored and a walk. Matthew Peipher added a 2-for-3 day with an RBI. Bruno Spadafora led a staff day on the mound for the Bullets, pitching the first three innings with four strikeouts for the win. Connor Stewart added three strikeouts in three innings.

An explosive 10-run 4th inning by the Rutgers-Newark Scarlet Raiders propelled them to a 16-6 win over Curry this morning as part of the Russ Matt Invitational. Marcus James (3-1) picked up his third win of the season after throwing five innings with 9 strikeouts and three runs. Matthew Rypkema picked up right where he left off and led the Scarlet Raiders along with Reid Duffus with two hits. Rypkema also tallied two RBIs as did Jesse Evensen and Nico Gonzalez.

No. 20 ranked Marietta won its fifth straight game with a 5-3 victory over New Jersey City in the BSN SPORTS Invitational. Brett Carson and Ty Davis hit back-to-back solo home runs in the bottom of the first inning staking the Etta Express to an early 2-0 lead. A two-run double from Davis in the third doubled the Pioneer lead to 4-0. Josh Pedersen (2-1) took over on the mound for Trent Valentine and got credit for the win. Valentine allowed two runs on two hits with five walks and four strikeouts in 4.0 innings. Pedersen gave up no runs on one hit with a pair of strikeouts in 2.0 innings. Jared Bees worked 2.2 innings and allowed one run on one hit. He walked two and struck out three. Kail Hill struck out the only batter he faced to record his third save of the season.

Arcadia closed out its spring break trip with a 3-1 win over No. 18 North Central on Thursday afternoon. Senior pitcher Carson Denham tossed eight-plus innings of one run ball for the Knights. He struck out 10 batters en route to his second win of the season. Hunter Sibley entered the game in the ninth and picked up his second save of the season. The Knights opened the scoring in the fifth inning as Joseph Kumar laid down a sacrifice bunt, scoring Ryan Smolen. North Central tied the game at one in the top half of the sixth. The Knights took the lead in the eighth inning as Alex Madera ripped a single back up the middle and Hunter Curley came home to score on a North Central throwing error. Madera eventually came home to score as he stole third and came home to score on another throwing error.

No. 6 Shenandoah won its third game of the week Thursday with a 17-5 non-league win over Nichols. Shenandoah (14-2) scored at least one run in every inning except the eighth and held Nichols (1-9) without a hit for the first 5 1/3 innings. Junior Luke Lageman (1-0), who came on for starter Aaron Leinenbach after Leinenbach was injured prior to the start of the third, got the win with 3 1/3 innings of relief. He continued Leinenbach's no-hit bid until tiring in the sixth and allowing four runs (three earned) on a triple, two walks, and a hit batsmen. Grady Dillon, Michael Usa, and Matt House finished up with Dillon striking out four in 1 2/3 innings of work. Shenandoah banged out 26 hits Thursday after recording 27 in Wednesday's win at Mary Washington and eight of the nine starters had at least one hit.

Freshman Aidan Ponder drove in the winning run with a walk-off sacrifice fly in the opener and added a clutch two-run single in the nightcap to help Plymouth State sweep Cairn in a pair of games at the Myrtle Beach College Baseball Spring Training at the Polo Grounds on Thursday. Plymouth State clawed back from a 3-0 deficit in the late innings of the opener. PSU scored a run in the fifth and Ponder crossed the plate as the tying run an inning later on a bases loaded hit by pitch. Ponder came to the plate in the seventh with one out and the bases loaded and lofted a fly ball to centerfield, deep enough for pinch runner Connor Dobson (South Portland, Maine) to score the winning run. The Panthers used a four-run third to take a 4-1 lead in game two. Ponder knocked in two with a base hit up the middle and later came in to score on a sac fly. The pitching did its job to preserve the lead as Plymouth State went on to a 4-2 win.

The Hood Blazers are off to their best start since 2018 with a 14-6 win over Juniata. Richard Kershow led the Blazers at the plate, going 3-for-5 with three RBIs, a double, two runs and a stolen base. Matthew Stout ended the game 3-for-5 with two RBIs, a triple and scored three times. Declan Sullivan started the game for the Blazers and threw three complete innings, allowing three runs one hit. The first-year student walked two and struck out two. Mason Sawyers earned the win as he allowed only hit in two scoreless innings and had two strikeouts.

Bethel extended their winning streak to 6 games with a decisive 15-6 victory over Benedictine Thursday morning. Pitcher Jordan Axberg picked up his first win on the season with three runs given up through two innings and one walk with five strikeouts. Both Justin Winderfeldt and Noah Wenberg picked up RBI's in the first inning with a double and a single before Matthew Carlsen and Ty Koehn both picked up RBI's as well, with a double and single in the second to put the Royals up 4-3. Keenan Hodgkin hit a solo homer to left in the fourth for the Royals and the Royals continued to score in the fifth when Tommy Friesen hit a two run single before Ty Koehn singled again to put the Royals up 8-4. The Royals put Benedictine away with an explosive seven-run seventh inning with an RBI single from Justin Winderfeldt, a Noah Wenberg sacrifice fly, a Jordan Krupke RBI single, a Nick Kulseth walk, and a Matthew Carlsen three-run home run.

SUNY Cobleskill extended their current winning streak at the 2023 Russ Matt Invitational Tournament to three games as the Fighting Tigers swept the Blue Knights of Mount Saint Mary's by scores of 12-2 and 10-9. With the sweep the Fighting Tigers are currently 4-5 overall on the season to date while the Blue Knights drop to 3-8 overall on the year. In the opener the Fighting Tigers used a seven-run fourth inning highlighted by two run singles by sophomore third baseman Logan Hutter and first-year right fielder Logan Firment to put the game in the win column. In the second game the Fighting Tigers found them trailing in the bottom of the seventh by a 9-6 margin then used a solo home run by right fielder Logan Firmont leading off the inning an RBI ground rule double by junior catcher Matthew Snyder and a run scoring single by centerfielder Zach Ducorsky to decide the issue for Cobleskill.

Penn State Altoona got back in the win column on Thursday afternoon, earning a doubleheader sweep of non-conference opponent Waynesburg on the road. Penn State Altoona (5-9) broke its seven-game losing streak in game one, posting a 5-0 shutout victory over Waynesburg (3-7). The Lions completed the sweep with a 5-3 win over the Yellow Jackets in game two. In the opener Eli Wiles tossed a complete game, four-hit shutout to pick up his first win of the season. Over seven innings, the right-hander struck out five batters and walked just two. The Lions overcame a one-run deficit late in game two, rallying for two runs in the sixth to take the lead and then tacking on one more in the seventh. Jonathon Rauch continued his strong day at the plate, going 2-for-3 in game two with a triple, two RBI, and one run scored.

Freshman pinch-hitter Carter Schmitt drove in the go-ahead run in the bottom of the eighth, his first collegiate RBI, and junior lefty Cole Stamm recorded the final two outs for his sixth save as the 14th-ranked Randolph-Macon team nipped No. 16 Christopher Newport 6-5 on Thursday afternoon. The Captains would plate two in the top of the seventh to take a 5-4 edge before RMC responded in the bottom of the frame to level the score at 5-5. With two away, Schmitt came off the bench and delivered a single to drive in Iannuzzi and put the Yellow Jackets on top 6-5. Snead recorded the first out in the top of the ninth and turned the ball over to Stamm. He allowed a pair of two-out hits but fanned the final hitter to earn his sixth save in six appearances, two away from the program record for saves in a season.

The Oneonta Red Dragons picked up its fourth straight win in Florida following a 9-8 victory over the Golden Knights on Thursday morning. Oneonta went ahead 7-0 in the third and withstood an early rally to emerge after three with a 7-6 lead. Both teams scored twice in the sixth to complete the scoring. Oneonta had four batters with multiple hits, with Joe Ottaviano going 3-for-4 with two runs. Sophomore Joshua Martin earned the win by going 3.1 innings with two strikeouts, while senior Logan Carriero picked up his second save of the season with two strikeouts.

No. 7 nationally ranked Endicott produced a four-run eighth inning to rally past La Verne, 5-3, in non-conference action on Thursday night at Ben Hines Field. Robbie Wladkowski jumpstarted the Gulls' comeback in the eighth inning with a leadoff homer to left field. TJ Liponis followed with a walk before a Caleb Shpur double down the left field line and a miscue in the corner by La Verne allowed the game-tying run to score. From there, Endicott seized all momentum in the contest as Nicolas Notarangelo and John Mulready knocked in back-to-back runs with a double and single, respectively.

New England College split a doubleheader against Worcester, winning the nightcap 8-7 and dropping the opener 6-2. The Lancers put up three runs in the first inning and three more in the third to jump out to an early 6-0 lead. The Pilgrims would get on the board in the fourth and score one more in the sixth but were unable to put together a rally in the seventh. Worcester State opened the scoring in game two, pushing their lead to 7-3 with one turn at-bat left for the Pilgrims. NEC found that seventh inning rally and with one out, senior infielder Devin Parsons walked-it off with an RBI single to win the game.
