Baruch Drops Non-Conference Contest to Old Westbury (7-1)

The Panthers from the State University of New York at Old Westbury defeated the Baruch College Bearcats, 7-1, on Sunday afternoon at the St. Joseph's College Baseball Complex in Patchogue, New York.

The visiting Bearcats (3-7) managed to get on the scoreboard first in the fourth inning. Nicholas Pomo-Roman hit an RBI ground out to the pitcher that enabled Keith Ezersky to score from third base.

The Panthers (3-11) from the Skyline Conference took control the rest of the game by tying the score in their bottom half of the fourth and scored four more runs on four hits in the fifth inning en route the 7-1 non-conference victory.

Dan Daley had a pair of singles for two of the team's three total hits this afternoon, while John Yuksekol had the third with a single in the fourth inning.

The Bearcats will return to Long Island on Tuesday for a non-conference contest against the United States Merchant Marine Academy from the Landmark Conference.
