PATCHOGUE, NY (www.OLDWESTBURYPANTHERS.com) -The SUNY College at Old Westbury baseball team snapped a three-game losing streak Sunday with a dominant 7-1 win over the Baruch Bearcats from Gregg Alfano Field.  Old Westbury improved to 3-11 on the season while sending the Bearcats to 3-7.  Old Westbury has won the last eight contests against Baruch dating back to the 2009 season.

Baruch scored first in the fourth with an infield ground out by Nicholas Pomo-Roman that sent Keith Ezersky home for the 1-0 lead.  Old Westbury answered right back in the bottom of the inning with a Byron White one out RBI single that scored Nick Yip.  Old Westbury was unable to capitalize with the bases loaded after two infield ground outs ended the inning.

Yip doubled Old Westbury's advantage in the following inning with a triple to score Tommy Ziegen.  Jonathan Pagan then stepped to the plate with a triple to score Yip, followed by a Kevin Licul single that sent Pagan across home plate for a 4-1 advantage.  White continued the scoring with a sacrifice fly to push Licul across the plate to make it a four run lead.

In the seventh, John Angelino singled home Pagan for the Panthers to take a 6-1 advantage.  Old Westbury closed out the scoring books in the eighth with a pinch hit Matteo Gaudio run scoring single which added Ziegen to the Panthers' run tally.

The Panthers were led offensively by multi-hit games by White (2-4, 2 RBI), Pagan (2-5, 2 R, RBI, SB), Licul (2-4, RBI, R) and Angelino (2-3, RBI).  Yip (1-3, RBI) and Ziegen (1-3, 2 SB, BB) each scored two runs.  Jacob Coners' career-best 13-game hitting streak ended after going 0-for-4 at the plate.

Dan Daley's 2-for-3 game at the plate led Baruch.

Old Westbury starter Tim Ingram (1-2) pitched seven strong innings to record his first win of the season.  Ingram allowed one run off two hits and two walks while registering five strikeouts.  Caleb Olessen and Alex DiSanto combined to close out the final two innings in relief of Ingram to solidify the win.

Connor Henson (0-1) was saddled with the loss after surrendering five runs on six hits in three innings in relief of starter Andrew Lizardi.
