Rams Blanked at Division I Hofstra

Hempstead, N.Y. - In a non-conference game at Division I Hofstra University, the Farmingdale State baseball team fell, 13-0, on Wednesday afternoon. The Rams now stand at 12-8 on the year, while the Pride improved to 11-11.

With bases loaded and one out in the bottom of the third, senior center fielder TJ Ehrsam (Vienna, VA) hit a double to right center which put Hofstra ahead 2-0. In their next at-bat, an RBI sac fly to center by senior first baseman Brian MacDonald (Boonton Twp., N.J.) increased the lead to 3-0.

Hofstra added four runs on three hits in the fifth inning to exted their advantage to 7-0. The Pride later tacked on two in the seventh and four in the eighth to earn the 13-0 victory over the Rams.

Sophomore pitcher Alec Eisenberg (Scarsdale, N.Y.) earned the win after throwing five shutout innings allowing three hits and striking out three.

Farmingdale State next will host Baruch in a non-conference game on Thursday, April 10th at 4:00 p.m.
