Patchogue, N.Y. - Trailing 2-0 entering the top of the ninth inning at St. Joseph's-LI, Farmingdale State scored eight runs to earn an 8-2 game one victory. The FSC baseball team fell, 7-2, in game two for the Skyline Conference split on Sunday.

In the top of the ninth, Dalton McCarthy (Manorville, N.Y.) and Nick Osburn (East Islip, N.Y.) reached base with one out before a Domenic Palumbo (Plainview, N.Y.) RBI single through the left side cut the Rams (18-13, 10-4) deficit in half. In the next at-bat, Nick Attardi (Smithtown, N.Y.) tied the game at 2-2 with an RBI single. FSC took their first lead of the game, 3-2, on a Tyler Schrimpf (Miller Place, N.Y.) single to shortstop which scored pinch runner Joseph Roche (Westbury, N.Y.). Anthony Gigante (Bedford Hills, N.Y.) and McCarthy each hit 2 RBI singles later in the inning to extend the advantage to 7-2. Farmingdale State plated their final run of the game on a two-out Osburn RBI single through the left side.

In the bottom of the ninth, sophomore pitcher Matthew Constantine (West Babylon, N.Y.) retired St. Joe's-LI (21-10, 13-3) in order to preserve the 8-2 comeback victory.

Schrimpf was 2-for-3 with a run scored and RBI, while Osburn and Palumbo each had two hits. McCarthy and Gigante had one hit, a run scored and 2 RBI apiece.

Senior pitcher Matt Seelinger (Westbury, N.Y.) took a no decision after allowing two runs on three hits with eight strikeouts in 6.2 innings of work. Constantine (5-2) pitched a perfect 2.1 innings of relief to earn the win.

Leading 2-0 in the bottom of the fourth in game two, the Golden Eagles extended the advantage to 5-0 on a bases loaded triple by Anthony Bonilla (Massapequa Park, N.Y.). Matthew Burnett (Amityville, N.Y.) followed with a single through the left side to score Bonilla and put SJC-LI on top, 6-0.

Trailing 7-0 in the top of the seventh, the Rams scored two runs but fell, 7-2.

For FSC, Roche was 2-for-2 at the plate with a walk in three at-bats.

Burnett, Paul Britt (Commack, N.Y.) and Anthony Raucci (Seaford, N.Y.) each had three hits, while Bonilla was 1-for-3 with a run scored and game-high 4 RBI. Senior Josh Outsen (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) improved to 6-0 after a complete game allowing zero earned runs on six hits with four strikeouts.

The Rams next will square off versus Yeshiva (at Farmingdale State) on Thursday, April 27th at 5:00 p.m.
