Birmingham-Southern continued its Cinderella run, keeping the program alive for another week by clinching a berth in the Division III World Series, while UW-Whitewater advanced by winning twice on Saturday. Salve Regina and Pomona-Pitzer are first-time Series qualifiers, while the defending champs are still defending. More from Saturday.
For six of the eight hosts, they will need two wins on Saturday as they dropped the Friday openers to their visitors. Endicott and Randolph-Macon won the games they hosted in the final inning. The Gulls needed an extra inning while the Yellow Jackets finished their game in regulation.
Endicott received all 25 first place votes as they end the regular season as the top team in the D3baseball.com/NCBWA Top 25. They are followed by Denison, Baldwin Wallace, East Texas Baptist and UW-Whitewater to round out the top five teams.
No. 1 nationally ranked and first-seeded Endicott defeated fifth-seeded Western New England, 9-1, on Saturday afternoon at North Field to claim its third consecutive Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship.

Teamwork has its rewards and this week Transylsvania makes the cut at the 22nd spot in the latest D3baseball.com NCBWA Top 25. Arcadia and Cortland return this week with the Gulls of Endicott keeping their hold on the number one ranking.
All No. 1 Endicott does is win and they did it again with a runaway win over UMass-Boston. Joining the Gulls in the win column is Denison who finished a sweep of Marietta. Both Endicott and Denison hit the 30 win mark this week with the Big Read doing it in record fashion.
Colby is one of four new teams to the D3baseball.com NCBWA Top 25 this week. East Texas Baptist made a move into the top 3 as Baldwin Wallace moved down one spot. Endicott continue to be the top team. Week 2,3 number one Shenandoah fell out this week.
TCNJ joins the D3baseball.com/NCBWA Top 25 this week along with conference mate Montclair State and Buena Vista. Endicott continues to hold the top ranking and Baldwin Wallace jumped over Shenandoah as the top three teams remain in the top three spots.
Shenandoah put up double digit runs as did Endicott, Johns Hopkins and Salisbury. Salve Regina could only manage a single run but their pitching made 1-0 a winning margin.
Three wins over ranked team,s and an eight game win streak has York (Pa.) in the D3baseball.com/NCWBA Top 25 this week. At the No. 1 position, Endicott edged out Shenandoah in week 4 of the Top 25.
No. 2 Endicott made a statement with a win over No. 9 Johns Hopkins on Monday. Johns Hopkins was the top team in the 2024 Preseason Top 25. UW-Eau Claire gave their new head coach his first win of his career, defeating Elmhurst 13-5.
For the first time the top three teams in the D3baseball.com/NCBWA Top 25 remained the same with Shenandoah, Endicott and Baldwin Wallace holding their positions. Lower in the Top 25, there is a shakeup with undefeated Benedictine and Kalamazoo showing up for the first time.
Benedictine (7-0) and Kalamazoo (8-0) stayed perfect through games on Saturday. Benedictine did it with a 6-2 win over Hope and Kalamazoo swept a pail in Jacksonville, Illinois. Other teams who have played a minimum of five games and are still without a loss include No. 2 Endicott (6-0), Johnston and Wales (5-0) and Whitworth (10-0).
A new D3baseball.com/NCBWA Top 25 and a new number one team. Baldwin Wallace is out, Shenandoah is in. The Hornets received 13 first place votes followed by the Jackets (6), and Endicott (4) with more than one top nod.
Baldwin Wallace traveled to Johns Hopkins and took the top ranking from the Blue Jays in the first regular season D3baseball.com/NCBWA Top 25. Endicott, Johns Hopkins, Salisbury, Shenandoah and UW-La Crosse were the other teams that received at least one first place vote.
Good news for Eastern Connecticut State comes this year. They have a Championship in each city that has hosted and this year the East Lake era begins. The usual suspects lurk in Southern Maine and UMass-Boston and a Johnny-come-lately in Rhode Island. Last year Endicott made the final eight and have a team that is able and ready to repeat.
From a second place finish in 2023 and with much of the team back, Johns Hopkins opens the season as the preseason favorite in the 2024 Preseason D3baseball.com/NCBWA Top 25. Also getting first place nods are Endicott, Lynchburg, Salisbury and UW-La Crosse.
Misericordia and Endicott battled in the first elimination game with the Misericordia Cougars earning a 13-6 win in the fifth game of the 2023 DIII World Series being held at PG Cares Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
Luke Vonderhaar showed he was more than just the guy with the best GPA at the Division III World Series, as the senior was one of two Baldwin Wallace batters to go deep in a big fourth against Endicott.

Aurora claimed the first spot in next week's super-regional round on Saturday with 13 more regional champions joined them on Sunday. There are two more regional titles to be earned and they will be won on Monday
